Frank Lampard efl unfiltered (2 Viewers)

long way home

I think that interview was done the day we signed Grimes and since then have picked up 4 wins on the bounce and into the top 6. But FL if interviewed today would sound the same. He is very clear eyed about the vision and expectations he has with the club

He will have no better start than he has had, certainly not many days sitting thinking after loses. But even then i think he will be very level and not het sidetracked from his plan. Comes across as a real honest fella and i suppose with his family background it would be harder for him not to sound like football is in his blood. We should enjoy this while it lasts, because if he gets what he wants he will not be with us long.

What I find likeable with Lampard as a person is he’s clearly very intelligent, yet at no point does he come across as arrogant about it, nor does he try and dumb down.

When he speaks to someone you can see that he assumes they are as intelligent as he is

Just started listening. Comes across very well. Acknowledges how not all his management has gone well and always wants to better himself
Rates Rudi! Compared work ethic to Mason Mount at Chelsea. Good compliment to have
As long as it's not the injury record bit!

Thoughts on Lampard now Frostie? I know you really weren’t keen on the appointment.
Yeah, thrilled with how it's going obviously. I thought Robins should have had more time based on previous performance & the underlying data suggesting we would come good again & it seemed an unnecessary gamble.

I've always admired Lampard as a player & as a person but had reservations over his previous managerial experience.
Some of those early performances under him were painful however you look at it but it's fair to say we've turned a corner & then some since!

What I have seen & think is often overlooked, is he admits himself he's still learning. We've seen a pragmatism & flexibility which you don't always get in 'modern' management. Big test will be when we do inevitably have a blip how we overcome it but all signs at the minute are positive.

Long may it continue 🩵

Why is he wearing a top from the rejects pile? Hummel are so amateur, the chevrons are facing the wrong way.

On one shoulder only. Glad I’m not the only one that was driven mad by that.

And while I’m impressed that he singled out Rudoni for praise, it would have been even more impressive if he had got his name right rather than calling him Rudini.

Just a few months of talking to Clive will do that

Just watched this. A great watch.

He comes across as a genuinely likeable character - which he was when he was playing to be fair but now he's our manager, it's great to hear him speak in more depth.

I was unsure of the appointment but he's totally convinced me. A great appointment and long may the positivity continue.

Great interview that, love Frank and we are very lucky to have him here. I like Prutton too, always speaks well of us.
Interesting him talking about midfielders and how he likes them to be versatile, doesn't pigeon hole them like an average fan. Also that little name drop of Rudoni (no other player gets a mention in the whole thing) suggests to me that Lampard thinks he can go far. We've got a real player on our hands there.
Torp got a mention too.

He is a class act, comes across really well. I noticed he mentioned a couple of times about the ambition of the club, recruitment & improving the squad - gives the impression he will be backed again in the summer

That we spent a fair whack on Grimes without selling anyone still surprises me. Very impressive business.

I'm sure we will see a couple of sales if we are not promoted, but with what's come out recently with the accounts I trust in DK that these are on our terms and the money reinvested.
Safe assumption that MVE would be sold, perhaps Simms also if he adds more goals. We are at least not relying on Vik to move anywhere.

Not arguing that more just the bling shite. Thought the complaint was he didn’t put his money in which he has?
The point is precisely what you say. There are a number who chose to throw the King putting in money card and now he has they have mysteriously gone silent and refused to admit they were wrong whilst one in particular ensures that others are criticised when this is the case.

I'm a bit more relaxed about future sales of 'stars' because in a previous life, we'd sell our top player and replace with an ageing ex PL player or unknown loan player.

Since DKs been in, we've reinvested money recieved back into the playing squad.

I'd be gutted to see the likes of MVE and Wright leave but would be equally excited to see who we bring in as replacements.

It's an interesting listen and Frank really comes across well. However, I am a little concerned that the media are bigging him up and setting him up for a fall. Obviously we don't want that, but the pressure must be building on him to carry this off and not fall off a cliff

Doesn’t look pressured

Bookmark and we'll revisit in 3-4 years. Rudonis attitude is way beyond the fast food lover that is Hamer. Also things that you can't coach like his build, natural athleticism. Rudoni looks like the Prom King in a movie, Hamer looks more like you'd find him leaning against a wall at the bottom of Leam at 2am with a kebab. In fact i think @Brighton Sky Blue might have.

When the rumours started about Lampard, I was very unsure. The more it dragged on before he accepted, the more research I did - and although I had warmed to his appointment when he joined I was still a bit concerned that it may have been Dougs ego driving it.

A really knowledgeable and driven fella and very articulate too. If someone served me a piece of humble pie and said eat it up you fat shit, I’d quite happily polish it off and ask for seconds!

It’s ridiculous! The guy loves the club, in his first season he would always come back and watch games when Sheff Utd weren’t playing until he got told off by Sheff Utd for keep coming and watching us.
Even on his insta he had his display pic in a Coventry kit for most of the first season.
People forget that, he went to play premiership football and they are in the automatic promotion places… give the guy a break!

Me too and not just because he's our man.

I recall him being a guest pundit during the last Euros on the BBC alongside Rio Ferdinand and Micah Richards, he spoke so eloquently and could clearly demonstrate, by use of graphics, his informed views on how England needed to improve in order to progress in the competition.

The look on the faces of Messrs Lineker Ferdinand and Richards was something else, they were totally bamboozled at what FL was saying.

Top bloke imo.
Tbf Lineker, Shearer and Micah then went on to talk about him very very highly as a coach/tactician on their podcast and say that England could do alot worst than him…maybe a small step far, but he definitely left an impression
