What he should have done is taken the chance over the last 18 months to go and gain some experience and be a number 2 to someone. This is where I have more respect for the likes of Keane and RVN, they have gone and done the hard yards as an assistant at a number of places. Frank did about 12-18 months as a youth coach then has only been a manager since.
This is a huge gamble for both us and him, there's been a few people in the media, Alan Smith, Allerdyce and others that have all said after his last 2 jobs this is make or break, fails at us and it's probably his managerial career over at championship level or higher
That's true, but nobody who's had groundbreaking achievements was ever likely to take the job.
You can make two entirely plausible narratives about his career from the available data. One in which he’s a promising manager who has taken teams to the playoffs and the Champions League, one in which he’s a nepo baby promoted beyond his abilities, proved by his last two jobs.
Reality is that we don’t know, but this job is critical for him. If he succeeds here the first narrative will be the one people remember. If he doesn’t? Well it’s a lifetime of punditry for him.
He failed and got sacked in his second season at Chelsea. League only:It’s only 1 job. You can’t count a caretaker role as an actual managerial job.
I mean if you’re doing that, all Rhys Carr needs to do is win tomorrow and percentage wise he will be one of our best ever managers
Who’s wishing him to failFrank wasn't my first choice, but to be perfectly honest I couldn't care about what he's done before us.
What he does with us is all that matters and I hope he does well.
People genuinely wishing the manager of the club they support to fail is absolutely baffling behaviour.
The way some people on here are going you'd think he's the second coming of Russel Slade.Who’s wishing him to fail

To be fair maybe 'wishing' was the wrong word, but people have written him off before he's even started.
Agree about the people wanting him to fail, that's just odd as that will mean we might go down!! However, I am not sure about the logic of not caring what he has done before, in recruitment processes that's typically a key consideration?Frank wasn't my first choice, but to be perfectly honest I couldn't care about what he's done before us.

No, but it is giving more like the second coming of Peter Reid/Chris Coleman vibes. The way some people on here are going you'd think he's the second coming of Russel Slade.

Tbf stupot you (nor me) have any idea about how the world of elite coaching works. Way too simplistic to say the right thing to do is become a number 2 for a whileWhat he should have done is taken the chance over the last 18 months to go and gain some experience and be a number 2 to someone. Don’t think anyone’s wrote him off, but people are rightly questioning his appointmentThe way some people on here are going you'd think he's the second coming of Russel Slade.

Hope he does well, just doubt it and have grave concerns.
I'm more talking about people saying he won't do well here because he didn't do well at Everton etc... You never know how it'll work out.Agree about the people wanting him to fail, that's just odd as that will mean we might go down!! “Hope you fail. Solely because you’re not Mark Robins”. That’s literally where many people are at.
Yeh this is my only issue. It's like a kid who hate their stepdad just because!“Hope you fail. Solely because you’re not Mark Robins”. That’s literally where many people are at.

Stepdad are dads that step up!
Exactly, people are allowed to be concerned at the appointmentCould you link any posts expressing that sentiment because Ive not seen them.
I've seen a lot of 'if you don't think Lampards managerial career's great you want City to fail' though.
Yea damn kids , fuck they think they areYeh this is my only issue. It's like a kid who hate their stepdad just because!

Oh don't worry I remember. This is it. I sometimes wonder if some don’t remember CCFC 2001-2011 and that’s why they’re not worried about us going back to it.
On other side of coin are there really people out there who love king and hate robins? Are there really people out there who say lampard is the best manager out there?Literally no one is there except the people you make up in your head to get angry at.

I don't think so. I feel like you make shit up to get angry about personally. You start arguments with anyone over it in fact.
Been smarting ever since the coaching news came out. Thought this would be done with by now. Unfortunately not. Hopefully now we back to games everyone can move on to something different
His win rate at Chelsea is decent
There’s been lots of people on twitter saying that Lampard is the best option available to usMy mate phoned me today and said lampard was the best available .. I just said do you mean the biggest name ?
That's the reality isn't it
