I get what you're saying, but the statement when Robins was sacked was the new manager would work with the existing coaching structure at the club.

Just seems a little strange to fuck everyone off after spending all that time and money on appointing them.
FWIW I completely agree and that's how I read the statement too. Like I said; always with a pinch of salt

That doesn’t mean it’d be the same people here now though, it’s more to do with the actual structure in place.

Absolutely no way this happens surely. If we’re open to binning off the coaches for a new manager, why didn’t we do just that and keep robins?
Maybe robins liked the coaches???? People keep assuming he wasnt happy with the set up but we don't know that.

I'm not convinced, but yes.

Also not sure about him leaving Derby at the first opportunity.
For Chelsea though where he was a club legend. It was the wrong move but kind of impossible to turn down.

It would be like of any us being offered the Coventry Job after a good year at Nuneaton boro

People have been giving the coaches a lot of stick and they have not been that visible until yesterday - I though RC came across really well pre and post match - again makes you wonder a few things 🤔

Not saying he didn't. I just don't understand why, even if they were all Robins choices it'd be the case of "you've done wonders for the past 7.5 years, but these new coaches are wank so fuck off" and then completely start again.

For a businessman like Doug that seems a massive waste of resources and money, which is why I was expecting the current coaches to stay.

Good point, that could be the case. But as a I said above, it's a massive waste of resources to recruit staff and fuck them off a few months later.

But that's a worry for me. If he manages a good season will he run off to the first big club that comes knocking. Long term stability is good for us.
Don’t think we have to worry for the three years though after his last two moves, think he’ll want to stay and get some time in a role. But that’s a risk with any manager and think if Manchester United came in for Mark it would of been the same

Structure and personnel are two different things entirely.

To be fair two of the four were previously in the U21s maybe Doug and the club are hoping to move them back to there old roles.

And this is more why I think it’s Robins men than anything else as if we are getting rid it shows it was more of a stay of execution as opposed to faith in them following Robins

And Robins has just been sacked for poor results.
So if he introduced it, and he and it failed, why are we insisting the new man keeps it?

It makes no sense?
Not that we will keep it anyway because Morris will take up a position that currently doesn't exist. It's all bullshit.
Funny as I remember the Chris Ramsey rumor that he was going to replace one as they were moving back.

Maybe that’s the plan now for Morris

But that move was kibosh by King apparently.
Whatever the reason Ramsey didn't come Morris will tajevup a position that doesn't currently exist

Makes more sense to me that it was now Robins has been sacked. Why would you recruit Chris only to sack the manager who wants him. Think Doug’s been thinking about this for a while and needed a trigger after out form turned

Well clearly. But plenty on here won't have it that King's been setting this up for a while.

I imagine the structure was a club decision and he was the one responsible for bringing in staff to work with.

So King, who admits to knowing nothing about football, decided to rip up what brought us success and threw Robins under the bus when it didn't work?

The structure.
If Robins put it in, why are we keeping it?
If he didn't, why did we force the manager to move away from a structure that had brought him success even if it was him that chose the personnel?
Two parts I guess:

If Robins put it in which I don’t think he did, we aren’t completely keeping it as we’re changing the main role to a head coach meaning less impact on recruitment allowing the club to have a higher control on the overall vision.

If he didn’t, It’s a fairly modern system which a lot of teams in our league and the teams we want to emulate (Brighton and Brentford) use. It seeks to create more structure in finding targets for future managers, players and coaches and this allows more stability.

We knew we needed to evolve at some point as we had some many misses by just looking at the Chelsea youth team (which funny enough is what we’re getting back xD).
