Has Doug or Robins ever come out and said there's any suggestion of a no loans policy? Or have we not found a good fit?
Well according to the Doug haters he doesn't
Some talented youngsters and some grizzled journey men.He did well at Chelsea first time around. 4th and FA Cup final.
Was that Derby squad really better than the squad we have now ?? I’m not so sure ……
Frank Lampard and Ashley Cole leading our team does not feel at all right. Feels like generic “name” appointments and another step away from the culture we’ve built over the last few years.
Would prefer an unknown like Horneland, Michel, Jaissle etc (not saying those specifically, other than Horneland). Individuals with points to prove and reputations to forge. People who won’t see themselves as bigger than the club.
Saying that, if it’s Lamps (annoying already) he’ll get my support and hopefully this is where he proves he’s not just another intelligent sounding pundit.
Lampard now linked with the Roma job
He was linked at least a week ago before we even sacked robinsLampard now linked with the Roma job
Cov Telegraph have done an article about what he has said today but just had an epileptic fit trying to read it. Ads and pop ups are a joke.
Don’t even have epilepsy.
I'd rather he went there. Probably just rumour anyway.Lampard now linked with the Roma job
I’d also add, this is absolutely driven by DK wanting to get to the Prem asap so he can immediately sell to Mike Ashley.
Just managed to read it and it’s literally one quote from ages ago when he was on TalkSport. Cheers Andy. It’s just him saying he’s ready for a job.
Fuck him let him off if he does no great loss after losing king robinsBut that's a worry for me. If he manages a good season will he run off to the first big club that comes knocking. Long term stability is good for us.
Quote them all under thisExactly, yet there are plenty who think the expectation is now to finish 16th.
If it is Lampard, it's an extra big gamble. He doesn't have a history of success in management, or being part of a long term project he's dedicated himself to. He's an unknown quantity, who hopefully can prove himself.
Neither did Robins 7 years ago
Way I see that is if he does here, we’ll be in the prem… who knows what would have happened then anyway Robins or not!Adding to my own post, and it’s been mentioned elsewhere, but another concern has to be the stability and long term planning here.
Could be doing him a disservice, but if Lampard does well, he’ll likely jump ship to a bigger team. If he doesn’t, we know DK will get rid. Merry go round either way.
Not exactly a solid base for building that rapport with the fan base, especially as there’s been so many comments re how unlikeable the players are.
Just your shite onesHang on I thought polls weren’t allowed on here?
It’s old news. Mancini is likely to get it.Lampard now linked with the Roma job
Another basket case club/job, sounds like a disaster waiting to happen if he can’t speak Italian (maybe he does? I genuinely don’t know)Lampard now linked with the Roma job
Won the league in IsraelI see Robbie Keane is coming in as a late contender… what has he ever managed club wise am I missing something?

Sure he was at one of the big Israeli clubs the last I heard, not sure what he does nowI see Robbie Keane is coming in as a late contender… what has he ever managed club wise am I missing something?

Maybe a late panic from Dougie that he thinks bringing in a club legend may please the many who want him sent down for treason.
I think we were better than that.yeah, we were lets say industrial. It worked but let's not pretend it was pretty.
I’m not wanting to sound overly semantic but coaching structure and coaching personnel are not the same thing. I imagine there is plenty of wriggle room in that statement.I get what you're saying, but the statement when Robins was sacked was the new manager would work with the existing coaching structure at the club.
Nothing wrong with students, they pay their way at least. It was tongue in cheek. Can't call it a beautiful city but there are nice parts and pretty bits. All despite being Flattened in the war and neglected by successive governments. There are deluded, biased and stupid Coventrians who would actually struggle with that. Ones who can’t swallow the fact that Coventry is a student dedicated dump.
