Has Doug or Robins ever come out and said there's any suggestion of a no loans policy? Or have we not found a good fit?

We also have an inexperienced team ourselves so if anything, we need to get a couple of older players in steady the ship.

He did well at Chelsea first time around. 4th and FA Cup final.

Was that Derby squad really better than the squad we have now ?? I’m not so sure ……
Some talented youngsters and some grizzled journey men.

Frank Lampard and Ashley Cole leading our team does not feel at all right. Feels like generic “name” appointments and another step away from the culture we’ve built over the last few years.

Would prefer an unknown like Horneland, Michel, Jaissle etc (not saying those specifically, other than Horneland). Individuals with points to prove and reputations to forge. People who won’t see themselves as bigger than the club.

Saying that, if it’s Lamps (annoying already) he’ll get my support and hopefully this is where he proves he’s not just another intelligent sounding pundit.

Adding to my own post, and it’s been mentioned elsewhere, but another concern has to be the stability and long term planning here.

Could be doing him a disservice, but if Lampard does well, he’ll likely jump ship to a bigger team. If he doesn’t, we know DK will get rid. Merry go round either way.

Not exactly a solid base for building that rapport with the fan base, especially as there’s been so many comments re how unlikeable the players are.

Cov Telegraph have done an article about what he has said today but just had an epileptic fit trying to read it. Ads and pop ups are a joke.

Don’t even have epilepsy.

It’s just him saying he’s ready for a job.

But that's a worry for me. If he manages a good season will he run off to the first big club that comes knocking. Long term stability is good for us.
Fuck him let him off if he does no great loss after losing king robins

If it is Lampard, it's an extra big gamble. He doesn't have a history of success in management, or being part of a long term project he's dedicated himself to. He's an unknown quantity, who hopefully can prove himself.
Neither did Robins 7 years ago

Neither did Jimmy Hill.

Way I see that is if he does here, we’ll be in the prem… who knows what would have happened then anyway Robins or not!

I get what you're saying, but the statement when Robins was sacked was the new manager would work with the existing coaching structure at the club.
I’m not wanting to sound overly semantic but coaching structure and coaching personnel are not the same thing. I imagine there is plenty of wriggle room in that statement.

There are deluded, biased and stupid Coventrians who would actually struggle with that. Ones who can’t swallow the fact that Coventry is a student dedicated dump.
Nothing wrong with students, they pay their way at least. It was tongue in cheek. Can't call it a beautiful city but there are nice parts and pretty bits. All despite being Flattened in the war and neglected by successive governments.

I actually think Lampard would be wiser choosing us, he went too high top soon and got burned already after all
