What do you mean by 'qualified'?

That he's the most experienced? If so, then in terms of games managed, then possibly, but none of that experience was anything other than underwhelming.

If he'd have been a lesser player but with the same managerial record, there's no way he would be anywhere near contention.
He’s finished in the top 4 of the Prem and kept Everton up in the Prem. These aren’t insignificant achievements. Again, he isn’t joining a Prem team, we’re a Championship club. This isn’t a Rooney type situation, Lampard has managed in the Championship and got to a playoff final which is what we want.

Realistically, I wouldn’t accept any L1 manager replacing Robins and this perspective is probably shared by the majority of the fan base. Of the managers with Championship experience, you’ve got Rosenior or Eustace who have done well but again achieved nothing, no playoff appearances or anything - they re not as qualified as Lampard, objectively.

There’s only 2-4 managers I’d have said we’re off binning off Robins for; Moyes, Potter, Cooper and Martin. 50% of that list are employed and I’m not even sure I’d have happily took Martin over Robins if it was an option (which it isn’t).

Apart from a very promising stint with us.

We were also about to be relegated to the fourth division. It's not the same.
There you go. With all due respect to Robins, I always felt like it was the right man, right club combination and I’m sceptical he’ll replicate his success with us with another Championship club.

That’s something I always felt to be the case even at his peak with us.

Who would your preferred candidate have been? We probably share the same view that no one candidate was a stand out replacement for Robins. RVN, Lampard and Carsley (plus other Championship/L1 managers) wouldn’t have floated my boat to be honest.

They all need to prove themselves to us as a fan base. For all the positives of managing us, it has the potential to be a poisoned chalice as Robins’ tenure will cast a long shadow over this club until we get promoted.

The only reason is because of a tweet from some random united fan, nobody else is saying anything
As I said before you've no idea where they get their information from . I can assure you that it will have plenty of credence behind it and that is pure coincidence and speculation

The only reason is people will have seen that tweet and started betting on him

I want Frank I hope it’s true but that’s the reason

We’ve been told since we sacked Robins the managers betting market isn’t anything to read into as small bets make big movements in odds?
It's relative . Small bets are regarded in the industry ( especially on short priced outcomes) as around £100 and under. Small time punters are only going to be throwing paltry fivers around

Maybe but a few fiver mug punter bets isn't going to influence an established betting market
Probably would tbh, how many people are putting serious money on this?

The only way you’d have any info would be insider knowledge that potentially risks your career if found out.

Everyone who's ever managed them has kept Everton in the Premier League.

I'm not sure 6th with that Derby side can be said to be a huge success. It had players like Wilson, Mount and Tomori in it. Wasn't that basically in the era that ultimately screwed them? They had to get promoted or they were in it up to their necks; well, look how it turned out for them.

Because you need to follow due process.

People apply for job
You create a shortlist
You interview

Lot's of teams take longer

And then you ignore the above and give it to your mate's nephew...

I lost my Betfair account for laying Greyhounds my friend trained when he told me they wouldn't be winning.
