I’m sure we will do but most of the forum has spent the season complaining about not bringing in loans to supplement the current squad! The article even says that they suspect one will be with an option to buy.
"We need loans ffs Doug"I’m sure we will do but most of the forum has spent the season complaining about not bringing in loans to supplement the current squad! The article even says that they suspect one will be with an option to buy.
We've just spent £40m over the last two season, what a waste of money that will have been if he brings in 3-4 loan players for 6 months to replace themHope we don't just become a team dependent on loans again. Would be nice to get a few rising stars permanently.
Some of you are so whiny
Not sure I would call that clarified, was there anyone suggesting we sign shit loan players who wouldn't get any games?Doug clarified loans though didn’t he. We need loan players who are good enough to take us to the next level as if we don’t play them, then we won’t get anymore.
I'm not sure why people think we would be getting anyone who is currently setting the managerial world alight. They tend to be employed.Because it seems to that name won over substance here. He's hardly set the managerial world alight in the past. He is more of a manager than a head coach. Seems mad to jettison stability for such a underwhelming appointment.
Ive no doubt this was nailed on from the moment Robins was sacked.
But also said he wouldn’t rule them out just issues getting the right ones in.Not sure I would call that clarified, was there anyone suggesting we sign shit loan players who wouldn't get any games?
All he's done is say what the basic premise of the loan system is. That you want players to fill gaps in your squad and the parent club will want them to play.

Quality journalism.
It does feel like a "shit or bust" appointment !I’d be happier I think to go with a Kieran McKenna/Chris Davies type, worked as a coach, under the radar, young, and giving them their first head coach responsibility and the ‘project’, rather than going with the ‘name’ that has got nothing on Robins in terms of achievements.
just smacks of ‘owner who knows nothing about football appoints big name footballer he has heard of’
of course we all want it to work out if it happens, I just don’t know what Doug wants? Does he want stability and success or does he want headlines? Cos they don’t win you trophies.

Lampard 1/4

He was comprehensively thrown under the bus in his interim spell there. A lot of the players really couldn't give a toss as they knew that they had no long term future there. Impossible situationHe was managing Chelsea, not Sheffield United. Winning 1 in 11 is embarrassing
That’s odd why did you say it was Allardyce then?don’t know who applied etc…
but I know 2 things
1- it was Frank the whole time for king. he hasn’t really thought out the box with this
2- Lampard won 1 in 20 matches last time he was in management
He’s a big name. Anyone else managerial career would be in tatters winning one in 20
Odd then. You’d think if they knew it was a done deal it wouldn’t have been reopened. Late Ruud gazumping possible?Betting is back on

Everton where Rafa and Carlos failed and Chelsea with Tucel and Graham failed. Both were complete basket cases tbh. Think most would have failed. Hell Sean Dyche win rate isn’t much better
I'd prefer Carlsey, but would be happy with Lampard too. I don't think either of these two would be interested in at least 70% of Championship clubs (Preston, Millwall, QPR, Sheff Weds, Stoke etc etc) We are on an upward trajectory, with a talented squad.

People also need to get out of the mentality that we "sacked Robins for X".
King sacked Robins because he no longer believed he was the right man for the job.
That’s fair, why was he sacked? Assumed he was part of the doom spiral at that club.Ancelloti had Everton finish 12th and 10th. That’s far from failure.
We haven't hired anyone yet have we?And then he showed that his ability to judge who the right man for the job is is somewhere on a level with the American electorate.
Heartwarming stuff. Sounds like you'll be giving the new guy quite bit more support than you gave the old one? We’re not all going to agree who is appointed. But one thing we all want is the new manager to be successful. So debates aside, the SBA will back the new head coach and the team.
Relegation mentioned and he hasn’t even managed one game for us…We haven't hired anyone yet have we?

Well he's German for starters.Tbh I'm not sold on Lampard either but the owner could have appointed Jurgen Klopp and you'd have picked a fault with it
