I’m sure we will do but most of the forum has spent the season complaining about not bringing in loans to supplement the current squad! The article even says that they suspect one will be with an option to buy.

Supplement and dependent are two totally different things. More than happy with the former.

Doug clarified loans though didn’t he. We need loan players who are good enough to take us to the next level as if we don’t play them, then we won’t get anymore.
Not sure I would call that clarified, was there anyone suggesting we sign shit loan players who wouldn't get any games?

All he's done is say what the basic premise of the loan system is. That you want players to fill gaps in your squad and the parent club will want them to play.

Because it seems to that name won over substance here. He's hardly set the managerial world alight in the past. He is more of a manager than a head coach. Seems mad to jettison stability for such a underwhelming appointment.

Ive no doubt this was nailed on from the moment Robins was sacked.
I'm not sure why people think we would be getting anyone who is currently setting the managerial world alight. They tend to be employed.

But also said he wouldn’t rule them out just issues getting the right ones in.

Also recent interview with Andy confirms we are looking at loans in January.

More proving the point that we are open to loans and as such could use the contacts Frank would have to get some

I agree, yet teams do it, successfully. Not necessarily from the UK either. Some of the young foreign coaches have been excellent.

I’d be happier I think to go with a Kieran McKenna/Chris Davies type, worked as a coach, under the radar, young, and giving them their first head coach responsibility and the ‘project’, rather than going with the ‘name’ that has got nothing on Robins in terms of achievements.
just smacks of ‘owner who knows nothing about football appoints big name footballer he has heard of’

of course we all want it to work out if it happens, I just don’t know what Doug wants? Does he want stability and success or does he want headlines? Cos they don’t win you trophies.

It does feel like a "shit or bust" appointment !
But deffo on board with Big Fat Frank's Sky Blue Bullet Train. You know the one that goes from Cov to Bedworth.
C'mon Frank prove the doubters wrong.

don’t know who applied etc…

but I know 2 things

1- it was Frank the whole time for king. he hasn’t really thought out the box with this
2- Lampard won 1 in 20 matches last time he was in management

He’s a big name. Anyone else managerial career would be in tatters winning one in 20
That’s odd why did you say it was Allardyce then?

Day after Robins is sacked, CBS Arena...

Secretary: Doug, there are a couple of gentlemen in your office. They said you'd be expecting them.

Opens door...

I'd prefer Carlsey, but would be happy with Lampard too. I don't think either of these two would be interested in at least 70% of Championship clubs (Preston, Millwall, QPR, Sheff Weds, Stoke etc etc) We are on an upward trajectory, with a talented squad.

Other way around for me. While totally underwhelmed by Lampard, I'd still rather have him than Carsley.

Shame we've not done something more dynamic and scoured Europe for a bright, up and coming manager.

Ah well.

We’re not all going to agree who is appointed. But one thing we all want is the new manager to be successful. So debates aside, the SBA will back the new head coach and the team.
Heartwarming stuff. Sounds like you'll be giving the new guy quite bit more support than you gave the old one?
