no because hes not one of the best owners in england ? why would you think he is , thats incredibly oddAll because he sacked Robins?
yep- Grendel, Nick, Cam and a few others busily attempting to gaslight everyone into thinking Robins was actually a poor manager.
He’s gone and we now have to get behind the new guy, Robins is easily up there as one of the greatest managers in our history. Both of those things are objectively true.
Is that 72 AD Rob, or BC?Born in 72, being a City fan in my lifetime
Lampard would only with if Ady came back in. I presume they had the same playing / training / set up mentality from the Chelsea days.
I wonder if any severance deal with Ady would become less costly if he rejoins.
Just thoughts.
I dont want this to turn into another RoS v Grendel as we have enough of those. I appreciate you don't see eye to eye and on this subject my views differ from G's, but let's try and remain objective.
Born in 72, being a City fan in my lifetime, I had some great memories of my 'heroes' in the early 80's when I started going, leading up to the cup final in 87. A large turnover of managers and players followed and bar a couple of seasons as the 'Entertainers' under Strachan, it was a largely turgid affair as we slipped down the leagues. Despite being a lifelong passion, spending thousands travelling about, going a whole season away under Strachan without winning a game, crap owners, never challenging for anything, moving out of the ground etc etc it was tough mentally and financially to keep going. Since the return of MR and the Checkatrade Final, some of the best times, especially as they've been family occasions too, have been great under MR and I'll always look back on the era with fondness.
I'm not that bothered that he's gone, I accept it. I dont particularly want FL but again accept him and will give 100% support. But, to tarnish what we have enjoyed and I'd hope most on this forum were there to share some or all of those days, feels more than a bit mucky, and disingenuous.
Anyhow, working day over, all enjoy your evening.

After Dowie, Before ColemanIs that 72 AD Rob, or BC?
Isn't that a contradiction, of sorts?Viveash looked after the Chelsea U18 team in the 3 years that coincided with Lampard still being at Chelsea, I doubt they know each other.

Never said Robins was poor, greatest manager in my time supporting the club, deserves a statue and everything. Just thought it was time for a change.yep- Grendel, Nick, Cam and a few others busily attempting to gaslight everyone into thinking Robins was actually a poor manager.

Give over. We were crap for the last month and a bit of last season and most of this. That's not a year.Robins has underperformed significantly over the last 12 months.
Carsley wasn't, neither was RVN.Carsley was reported never in for it apparently. Someone has said Evatt is on the shortlist on the other chat.
Assume RvN was just agent talk?Carsley wasn't, neither was RVN.
Queuing up for seconds at the Christmas do?No
Chelsea has got a massive academy and a large first team squad. Why would Lampard (who was still a first team player back then) even know Viveash?
Yes I was told yesterday both he / Carsley didn't apply, I'd suggest a bit of agent sorcery.Assume RvN was just agent talk?
HANG ON JMMY87. Does this mean Evatt isCarsley wasn't, neither was RVN.
There’s an argument either way but I think it’s better to get him working with the players sooner rather than later. At this point I’m fairly sure they want to delay until after Sheff Utd and possibly Burnley too. Otherwise it would be done surely?
Depends if Jimmys right, search might of not been as fast as it’s been reported since it would make the shortlist twitter about RVN and Carsley a nonsenseAt this point I’m fairly sure they want to delay until after Sheff Utd and possibly Burnley too. Otherwise it would be done surely?

Perhaps the Coventry City job didn’t have as much appeal as some made out…

I sense the above too.At this point I’m fairly sure they want to delay until after Sheff Utd and possibly Burnley too. Otherwise it would be done surely?
It would seem we sat and waited to look through who applied as opposed to identifying someone and going for them. Mistake number onePerhaps the Coventry City job didn’t have as much appeal as some made out…

Breaking my heart JimNot that I'm aware. I'd say it was always Lampard.
Perhaps the Coventry City job didn’t have as much appeal as some made out…
I’d say if every job in the championship was available, we would be around 10th most appealingIt is an attractive job, but the talk on here that there would be hundreds of top class applicants was always garbage.
Shockingly not every job in the championship is availableI’d say if every job in the championship was available, we would be around 10th most appealing
Yes mate that is why it’s hypothetical and not factualShockingly not every job in the championship is available
Which means there’s still a chance…Doesn’t sound like the club has decided who they want yet if this can believed. Hope is it’ll be done by Sheffield.
Frank Lampard is a leading contender to become Coventry's next manager
The former Chelsea and England midfielder is firmly in the thoughts of owner Doug King though is not the sole candidate, with at least one other boss interviewed at the start of this week.www.dailymail.co.uk
Which puts us around 30th in England. Not bad going considering the absolute basket case we were 8 years ago.I’d say if every job in the championship was available, we would be around 10th most appealing
You must be mistaken Jimmy, it's been a completely open process. Not that I'm aware. I'd say it was always Lampard.
I was pretty sure it would be Lampard the minute King actually said his name in that interview. Odd thing to do otherwise. You must be mistaken Jimmy, it's been a completely open process.
