Not in the smallest bit surprised by over 70 applicants. Big club, big fan base, cash to spend and a good playing squad. Would expect 75% of championship manager would swap there shirts, let alone anyone who's out of work or in league 1!

70 Apps, not short of options then are we. Skubala is a good shout, would want Ruben Selles to be near the top and Evatt (but I know this is just me following his career form Barrow).

Wow, if true that's a lot of applicants. Feeling slightly less tense about the inevitability of Lampard now.
Yes, but 90% of the applicants are posters on this forum

Who’s Tom Collomosse?

I don’t actually know, I usually judge media on who follows them on X;

I’m optimistic about my chances 👍

At my interview Doug King thanked me profusely for offering to do the job for a pittance and promised that the considerable saving would add to the transfer funds 😊

Are you sure it wasn't because you wrote "Beyonce" at the top of your CV, and Doug wants a big name.

From all those applicants, we've narrowed it down to 3 :- covcity4life, Grendel and skybluecam.
Fucked if I know which one to choose out of such a wealth of talent and knowledge.

The Israeli league doesn't instill me with any confidence to be honest. What sort of level is that?

Well they play in the European leagues, granted they never win anything in Europe.

It would be like a non-league manager managing a championship team.

All managers have to start somewhere. 🤔

Hells teeth - he's meeting Austin to discuss what to do next?
I assumed King had his ducks in a row hence the odd timing of the sacking but seems not.
Yeah, the idea that King has been in cahoots with his new guy for months appals me. But not as much as the idea of him literally sitting down now and starting to browse through a bunch of applications.

I'd actually be happier if Doug and Austin etc are meeting now to discuss candidates rather than already having one like Lampard lined up.

Gives me more optimism of an actual search being put in place and using wisdom of the crowds rather than just Doug going "Frank is big name, hire Frank!".

In terms of the betting world Lampard must have been approached and in advanced talks - Robbie Keane is in the wings as standby if Lampard don’t work out so Lampard is 4/9 on the Robbie Keane at 3 /1

And Robbie Keane would be the cheaper option for Doug King, so don't believe the bookies.

Keaneoooo Keaneoooo Keaneoooo. 😂
