I wasn't. I am quite intrigued about what this book is all about though. Admittedly not intrigued enough to read back through old posts.

Lampard - anyone else think Doug might be waiting for the yes's to outnumber the meh's and the no's to dip below 50% before announcing him? I reckon maybe another week and Nicky Butt buying a meal deal at the M&S garage in Stivichall should do it.

Yeah same at the moment, but I’m just wondering if I’ve missed something / there is something I’m not aware of about him?
Carsley is high thought of in coaching circles and has done a really good job with the England U21s.

I think a lot of Cov fans want him through being a player here on two occasions and with the above in mind.

I feel like the England U21 set up is probably quite different to our own and he doesn’t seem to have managed very many games at championship (or any league!) level.

I agree. It's a different animal isn't it, international football.
Feel if anything, Bloomfield is more suited to the job for that reason (not that I’m too keen on that either) and the reason people mainly want Carsley is to appease the dumbest section of our fan base (hi person on the internet that suggested McFadzean should come in as manager!). Get the person in who plays exciting football, is a good tactician and if we start picking up results those people will become happy again quicker than anyone else.

Yeah, I am not sure on Bloomfield.

It's great when you are on a fabulous run. Confidence is up, players go into games with a winning mentality.

The real acid test is when you lose a couple of games in a row and how you bounce back from that.

Has he had that? Looking at the Wycombe results this season, he hasn't. They have had a fabulous run of wins. I haven't looked further back than that

They’ll be a lot of clubs sniffing around Carsley, if we were to get him it would definitely be seen as an upgrade tactically than the previous set up. My only concern would be his man management skills, but if we was to bring a an experienced #2 and DK does bring in a high level DOF as he alluded too I think we would be in a really strong position

People don't consider Carsley for the same stupid reasons people suggested Fadz.

Fans seem to be vehemently against anyone relatively well known though so not sure would go down well

It will be totally different you’re absolutely right. Training at St George’s Park and having that as your base, expecting perform in knockout competitions only, with only brief experience in a league format and working with U21s who I imagine most of which are playing above or at the same level as City now, that’s not even factoring all the resources available to a head coach at the FA or having to deal with players when they aren’t playing regularly or dealing with transfers.

I think it would be a big drop for Carsley and I’m not convinced that without more individual experience either with his own or a Vivash style number two would it work for him here.

The best thing about getting Bloomfield would be visiting the Wycombe forum.
"We'll be in a higher league than them soon" was a personal favourite.
