Least carsleys got a connection to the club, lampard would be just a media circus we don’t need, prefer 2 seasons ago when we just went under the radar, kind of hoping it’s someone we’ve never heard of
Is Lee carsley actually any good!?!?!
Yes he won (whatever it was with England U21s) but could he work with a group of players that he hasn't selected and on day to day basis - not for three days every 10 weeks.

Completely get this. But to play devils advocate I’ve never heard of us being mentioned this much since the semi final and even then.

If your Doug, the potential sponsorship money could be worth it (I don’t genuinely think he’s a bad manager, think it’s way overblown).

yep, lampard could surprise us all ,it was hard using sunderlands manager as an example but he only got his coaching license 2 years ago from youth team manager to top of the championship, there’s plenty of good coaches out there, personalily that’s what I’d go for, obviously the 2nd half wasn’t great to back up my point 😂but you get what I mean

What do you mean 'players he hasn't selected'? Surely he'd select them ffs

He is simply a terrible manager, and let's be honest, sacking Mark Robins for Lampard is like dumping Margot Robbie for Susan Boyle. Three jobs and failures look like the perfect man to take us to another level. DK is going for a big name for commercial reasons and partly because he isn't a football man.

It’s 2/1 on Oddschecker.
There's only 2 bookies quoted
Skybet 1/2
Victor Chandler 2/1
They're oceans apart.

Carsley 11/4 Skybet , Chandler 9/4
RVN isn't even quoted on odds checker which makes me think that it hasn't been updated in the last 24 hours

Yeah, he’s still 2-1.

The good news i think is that candidate like Lampard, RVN etc will ensure that it remains a story that the press report on and might help attract good quality candidates.

I suspect they knew their ideal short list ahead of the sacking but there will always be new candidates that emerge once the role becomes public.

No doubt the telegraph will be putting a headline out

"Rvd joins Coventry"

Small print at the bottom "bookings odds"

'Here's the top 5 reasons why this Manchester United LEGEND might be the new Coventry manager!'

(And it's Nicky Butt)

Wouldn't of thought so, Carsley likes to be on the training ground with the players.

Loves to coach though Lee. Does it at Strachens football camp in Cov. Couldn’t see him happy behind a desk per say

We are appointing a head coach, not a manager, so it will be a more hands on role with the players.

I can't see it happening unless he really wants to get into a club role, in which case we might be ideal for him. He is unlikely to walk straight into a Premiership job but may think League 1 is a bit too low, having been involved at international level.

I'm starting to warm to the idea. Whether he will is a different matter altogether.

The question was about carsley being appointed director of football which I don’t think he would be happy to do.

Head coach however 100% could see and do think he would be a decent fit for what we are trying to achieve.

A story with this headline. It is basically saying we should get Rob Edwards from Luton. Embarassing Clickbait.

I read that last night and then this morning I saw that the Peterborough chairman is saying that MR would be a perfect fit for Luton.

Football can be bonkers at times 🙂
