He came second with PSV.To be fair RVN has already managed and won the league with psv

What makes Carsley better than RVN
My bad then. Fair enough, good never the lessHe came second with PSV.
Don’t think he would pay them any attention tbhCan't imagine Lampard will come given fans reactions on social media
He’s paid attention to social media reaction to most of his decisions tbhDon’t think he would pay them any attention tbh
Why did he leave PSV, out of curiosity? I was under the impression he didn’t fancy being a number 1.He came second with PSV.

Exactly this - top 2 probably Leeds and SU.
Then you've got absolute bun fight for top 4 - no one is running away, look at Sunderland last week, bang average to me.
However, we do need to start putting run together quick sharp. Fixtures after Burnley are quite kind for new manager also.

I live with Burnley fan and he was telling me RVN was their main target in the summer before hiring Parker at the last minute - who is under pressure atm (apparently their football is awful).
RVN will probably hold out for a better job to be honest.
Not really if he was genuine when he said he didn't want to be talking to a replacement while Robins was still here. Firing him when he did gave him 2-3 weeks to talk to interested parties before our next game. The way this has played out, points towards Carsley for me.
He would have had a commitement for the Nov England U21s games, so it couldn't be announced before then.
No way King sacks Robins without a target lined up.
King said he had to take action now (sacking Robins), but then leaves the team in the hands of Rhys Carr for a number of games, as he wants to take his time to get the right candidate. He's contradicting himself there.
Addtionaly, Carsley's response to the question about the Cov job, was telling. "I have a job to do here" - Standard swerving of the question.
Based on what? Whilst the club connection is nice, that's not really important, but he is highly regarded in the game as a very good coach and the reason England were looking at him. I think the off-field media stuff isn't really him and why ultimately after the Greece result, they pushed elsewhere. For our 'head coach' role I think he's a perfect fit. A tracksuit manager who gets involved with the actual training and a DoF to look after the other stuff.Really wouldn’t want Carsley to be quite honest.

He has no real experience of club management and has mostly worked with the U21s where there’s no real expectations on him. He’d be learning quite a lot on the job.Based on what? Yeah, Barbie came firstHe finished second didn't he?
Yeah, got corrected on that I thought he won the leagueHe finished second didn't he?
Apart from journeymen on the merry-go-round I think that's true of most. Certainly RVN doesnt have lots of experience and Matt Bloomfield is only 40 with almost his whole career at Wycombe. Nobody with genuine good experience linked really so I think someone who will learn is fine. Especially if we use this season to learn and the model does seem to be about improving young players. He has no real experience of club management and has mostly worked with the U21s where there’s no real expectations on him. Standard swerving of the question appears to be Carlseys signature move to most questions. Was tying himself in knots trying to avoid questions about the England manager position before it was given to Tuchel. The way this has played out, points towards Carsley for me.

I think it’s the only reason he’s even being suggested for the job tbh - he has none of the experience we’re supposedly looking forWhilst the club connection is nice, that's not really important
why? he's out of work and looking for a chance somewhere, it's not unthinkable imo.Ruud at 8s now. I'm with Cam though, just can't see him coming here.
Yes and if he gets things wrong while trying to learn on the job we end up in League 1. We don’t have much room for error in getting this right.Apart from journeymen on the merry-go-round I think that's true of most. Very Chivalrous!Yeah, Barbie came first
we could take anyone and end up League one though. Arguably with MR too although I dont think he would or the others. I know it's a bit of a cliche, but I do believe we are too good to go down and that xG is a pretty good indicator.Yes and if he gets things wrong while trying to learn on the job we end up in League 1. Nobody is too good to go down, and conceding goals you shouldn’t while missing chances you should score is how it happens.we could take anyone and end up League one though. Sunderland flatter to deceive. I don't think they'll make the top 2Exactly this - top 2 probably Leeds and SU.

Yet some people think playoffs should be the bare minimum expectation from a new manager.Sheff Weds have the same odds as us - we will have to get 2 points a game on average to have a chance
He identifies the shortcomings in the squad and the recruitment team do the rest.I don’t think he’d leave England for a Championship role. He’s still on a pathway to become Number 1 in the future.
The concern I’d have for Carsley is that whilst he’s a good coach, how does he go about recruiting and building a squad? It’s a culture shock from international management.
The England U21 job is a bit of a managerial graveyard tbh. Very few people go on to achieve much at all after leaving the role.I don’t think he’d leave England for a Championship role. He’s still on a pathway to become Number 1 in the future.

The form started going wayward April 9th .. then we had 3 months close season.. so at best we are talking 4 monthsMost of the outraged opinion pieces I’ve seen barely even discuss our form over the past 9 months.
They don't actually think that. They are just being awkward.Yet some people think playoffs should be the bare minimum expectation from a new manager.
