Bookies odds are shite for next manager. Who is seriously betting on the next Coventry boss?

Need to be looking towards the guys we know have applied - Lampard, Boa Morte and Skubala.

Would be surprised if Skubala didn't at least get an interview and he's no where to be seen on the odds.
Do we know Skubala has applied?

Why does it matter if he gives up on the season? He's not manager or owner... at least i don't think so.
This is why I am done with this discussion. The owner has set out his expectations. Some people on here want to believe those expectations are an impossible pipe dream. They quite clearly aren't but if they wish to believe that they are then I really couldn't care less. I suspect we are boring people - let's move on.

I think moving on is exactly what we need to do, but i don't see it happening any time soon my friend. We have another thread trying to figure out if the club knew Adi was giving an interview a few months ago in an attempt to attribute some sort of blame for what has happened. Goal posts will also be moved a lot in the coming months in attempts to score some forum points.

Why did he leave PSV, out of curiosity? I was under the impression he didn’t fancy being a number 1.

I live with Burnley fan and he was telling me RVN was their main target in the summer before hiring Parker at the last minute - who is under pressure atm (apparently their football is awful).

RVN will probably hold out for a better job to be honest.

I'm not even touching that thread. 😂

They usually don’t though.

At the same stage of the season last year, Norwich were 7 points off the playoffs. They ended up 3 points clear in 6th. 10-point swing.

At the same stage the season prior, Middlesbrough were 7 points off the playoffs. They finished 4th with clearance of 6 points from 7th. 13-point swing.

At the same stage the season prior, both Sheffield United and Forest were 6 points off the playoffs. They finished 4th and 5th respectively, with clearance of 10 points and 5 points from 7th. There’s an 11-point swing and a 16-point swing.

Do I need to go on?

So what you’re saying is that fewer than half of teams finishing in the playoff spots typically do so after surmounting the kind of points gap that we need to bridge?

We could also, of course, end up as one of the teams that gets supplanted by a team below us going on a great run too.

No it’s certainly possible but it’s not probable otherwise the majority of the teams in the bottom 6 at this stage of the season would end up in play offs and they clearly don‘t.

We have a good squad that needs enhancing and we need a new head coach and back room team.

Indivs will take a view on the speed at which that all comes together.

I’d be amazed if he had applied given that he’s currently in a job with Lincoln who might not be best pleased if they find out he’s hawking around his cv while they are paying him. This could be especially pertinent as we have found out with Lampard “being one the cvs” normal GDPR / data breach rules about confidentiality of job applicants do not seem to have been adhered to in this instance.

23/24 after 15 games - 5 of the top 6 finished there
22/23 after 15 games - 3 of the top 6 finished there
21/22 after 15 games - 3 of the top 6 finished there
20/21 after 15 games - 4 of the top 6 finished there

So clearly you can make up the ground at this stage of the season - but as I said, usually you don’t.

Broken logic

The fact that 1 or 2 teams a season do it isn’t good evidence.

I’m not sure why people are just hand waving it as “only 8/9 points!”, you have to look at there fact we are also 17th and there are many teams we also need to leapfrog.

History says you need about 74 points (1.6 ppg) to finish top 6. With our tally now we’ll need to average almost 1.9 per game to reach that figure, which is about what you need to secure autos over a whole season.

I actually meant to add a comment that it doesn’t mean we’d be the team to do it, but rather that it is doable.

After 7 years of success why wouldn't people try and get to the bottom of what's gone on?
And really, what the fuck does it matter what goes on on here anyway?

Despite spending too much time on here arguing yesterday I still managed to blag the 26th off work to go to Burnley, supporting the team when and how you can is all that really matters.

I'm tying it in with a supplier visit in Blackburn so I get paid mileage to go, although I'm sorry to tell you that I've only done that twice before, away to Fleetwood. Both freezing cold and we lost 3-0 and drew 0-0 in those two (warning you in advance so don't blame me! :) )

On this point, i didn't think it mattered and in general it really doesn't, but its actually pretty clear that poisonous rumours from the likes of GIMOC do in fact grow legs and spread across a fanbase.

They do, whether they have substance or not, I agree.
But most people forget about it, especially during a game.
There were a few half hearted anti King songs Saturday that I doubt we'll hear again and people will get behind the new man even if they think Robins was treated harshly.

I'd never doubt anyone on here would put ccfc above their internet squabbles in reality, even the biggest mentalists.

Whoever comes in if they can't get this team in the top ten then they're no good at their job. We have a good side and coached right they'll p*ss top ten.
