You’ve named a bunch of first team players. They aren’t waiting to get a chance like the Chelsea kids. Mason Mount was a top prospect before he ever met Frank Lampard, comparing him to Vik who by all accounts was heading away from top level football and turned it around here is silly.

What players have improved as a result of working with Lampard as a coach, not wonderkids who got given a chance from a loan or a transfer embargo.
Abraham, James, Hudson-Odoi, Christensen etc.

Your arguments on this are weird. Of course Lampard won't look good when you discount half the players for some random arbitrary reasons.

There is no guarantee any of those loan players would have turned out as well as they did. Are you suggesting that Russell Slade for example would have achieved the same results? While i get it you dont like Lampard, to say he had no involvement in their success that year and it was purely down to having good players is far fetched

Who’s success which year?

Yes they all got a chance (though not a key part of the squad as I showed earlier), because the club was under a transfer embargo. But that’s the extent of a first team managers influence on a young player unless there’s evidence of a shift in their potential while working under him. These were England U21 stars you’re talking about. CCFC do not have a bunch of elite young players sat waiting about for a first team chance. The players you’ve named don’t need what Lampard have the Chelsea players, they need a coach who will change their potential from currently lower Champ to something better.

Well you seem to imply that making the play offs in the season he was Derby was nothing to do with Lampard. In his first stint at chelsea you probably make the same assumption too

Ah Derby. Chelsea I’ve not paid too much attention to. He got a top three club a top four finish. It’s meh and he was working under very specific circumstances which wouldn’t apply here (transfer embargo and a stockpile of the world’s greatest youth talent).

Derby everything I’ve seen says he brought in a handful of extremely talented youth players and failed to make much of them. I don’t think he has the connections he had or Chelsea have the talent they had for lightning to strike twice and I don’t think you hire a head coach for their transfer contacts.

For the things we are hiring him for: motivation, tactics, being able to get more from a squad, developing players, wise spending of limited funds, there’s either little evidence Lampard is suitable or evidence he’s actively unsuitable.

Who says our players are only lower championship potential?

Your argument is ridiculous.

The same people bigging up the Chelsea and Derby seasons (I think they are about par for what you'd expect given the talent at his disposal) are absolving him of any responsibility for his last two appointments that were complete failures.

Well why don't you give him the benefit of the doubt and if he does fuck it up then you can laud it for all it's worth on this here forum in fact I'll happy meet up with you and pay homage to you.

🤣🤣🤣 Of course he has some credit. I'm just saying that he's been fortunate to have bad a conveyor belt of top young talent, that have been good enough to be given a chance.

Is it robin's fault that Andrews isn't at the level yet or Ryan Howley who can't even start at a Scottish div 2 side? They have to come to you good enough and with the right attributes. He's had elite kids, all top internationals at their age group.
They’re only considered a ‘conveyor belt of top young talent’ because they’ve realised a lot of their potential. There is no shortage of ‘top talent’ that came to the Championship with high hopes to only flop.

As for our own talent, it’s difficult to say. They may not be up to the standard, perhaps the coaching or opportunity hasn’t been there to get the most out of them.

It’s not a point about the academy. Our first team has a lot of U25s that need to be developed and King, rightly or wrongly, highlighted a lack of elite coaching in the setup post-AV leaving. This was a factor in his decision in his own words.

I'd rather we hadn't dispensed with Robins' services but alas we have shmmeee and we've got to move forward.

Btw, I'm not that bad, I can be fun, honest.

Well that too. But having done that it would be nice to know the people left at the club aren’t the sort to get hypnotised by Frank Lampard.

Again. What kids are waiting in the wings for us for a manager to give them a chance? It’s just not relevant to us as a club to have a manager who gives youth a chance. And that’s all a first team manager does to “develop youth”, the majority is done by the coaches in the academy and the kids talent and application. As stu says the number that come through generally are a product of that.
It's not just kids, it's players we've got that are not reaching their potential. Simms for example is still a pretty inexperienced player.

You are very repetitive and boring now - anything to put down Lampard in any way possible . Ruling out Mount as a player he developed is bloody ridiculous. Mount was A PROSPECT , not a top prospect , get your facts right. Either my Chelsea season ticket holding son is correct about this or you the impartial one with little Chelsea knowledge is. Time for you to stop this vitriolic nonsense and get behind the team and the manager. He will stand or fall by what he does here

He’s not the manager yet FFS. Getting really sick of people popping on and throwing insults around on here for the crime of not being a fan of a prospective managerial candidate.

I’ve gone through my reasons, Frostie has posted stats, others have given reasons of Derby fans. Yet clowns like you go on about people hating people and being vitriolic because they disagree. Sorry if you’re bored of it, you’re welcome not to read it.

Anyone else getting sick and tired of discussing Lampards past and whether he brought on certain players or not?!

Who cares? MR didn’t have the best record when he came to us…either time.

If it is to be Lampard, let’s just see how he does shall we before shitting the bed. People bang on about how we should be 4th/5th based on that xG table.

Well let’s give Lampard (or whoever the new manager is) the chance to make that happen.

It shouldn’t matter what a manager has done before us, it matters what they do for us.

MR proved the prime example of this. Don’t waste time on debating which players he brought through at his previous clubs.

I think Lampard will do well with us, walking into a stable foundation with a good squad in need of 1 or 2 tweaks. He’ll have a couple connections which will help fix that. Plays a free flowing attacking style which suits our players, as they all prefer to play on the front foot. Good history developing younger players, and Im looking forward to getting behind old fat frank and giving him time and seeing what he can do

I’m not sure of the downer on Lampard.

His record is no worse than Robins’ in 2017
