He would need a decent swing of the bat. None of these players are his choice. Would they fit into the way he would like them to play?

If Lampard isn't given scope to improve the squad in January then he should be given longer. But if he is allowed to bring in the players he wants and still fails that's a different matter.

I think King is looking for instant success, I’d want any manager to prove he can get a tune from the players we have before opening the purse strings. Especially Lampard given his transfer record.

Maybe that RVN didn’t want it, maybe because Dutch coaches have a reputation for falling out with their players. RVN fell out out with 2 of his coaches at PSV.
