It has the funds to appoint various members of staff to positions it didn’t previously have…
And not a penny from King...

Some may be willing to gamble our future for a chance of making it to the Prem. I'm not.

If we had just got promoted to the Prem I would be all for it. But to take on the liability when going against sides that come down 100m richer is a step too far for me unless the gamble is fully on King and not CCFC.

Generally speaking it isn’t managerial appointments that cost a bomb, but the price of getting it wrong sure does. So if you’re convinced you’ve found your man, within reason you pay him what he wants.

OK, King will pay them out of his pocket from the goodness of his heart.
Exactly. You can take the piss as much as you like but reality is something different.

I didn't enjoy going to Northampton or Birmingham. I didn't enjoy watching us struggle in League 2. Getting the map out to see where some of the shite teams came from then to see us lose to them wasn't fun.

Maybe reality has come home to King. He will have to put his money where his mouth is or take the wrath of the supporters. Glad that choice isn't mine to make.

If the delay is down to more and more demands from Lampard I hope King has a ceiling and if reached will pull the plug on it all. I’m sure there are plenty of managers (many with better credentials for managing a championship side ) who would be cheaper and more than willing to take up the role.

Of course he won’t put his money where his mouth is. It will come from the club. In terms of being “elite” that only has to be in Kings eyes. He could appoint Bryan Robson and simply say “he’s an elite coach”.

I fully agree.

If the 3 of them agreed on only 10k a week it is only just over 1.5m a year. 3 year contracts would only be nearly 5m. And that is if they are happy with only 10k a week.

We can only guess but did he expect to sign a manager and didn't consider the other demands? That's a lot of money to put up front for someone half of our supporters don't even seem to want.

If you go by what king said he’s only after Lampard to Come in and work with the existing coaching set up, and from what I’ve seen recently that wouldn’t be a bad thing, clearly the abuse the ( iPad brigade ) got was just the anger being vented from robins being sacked, they’re more than capable, if I’m Lampard though I’m wanting to come in with at least one of my own staff, and seeing as Cole’s left his job I’m guessing it’s him, pretty sure it’ll get over the line, just a bit of negotiating left to do

From what I have heard he is already supplementing our income presently.

Would Lampard also want a transfer budget/extra money for loans to come in? We all know we need a little strengthening in certain positions. Suddenly we're talking about a few million more.

Easy for a supporter to brush off. But when it's your own money?

@Saddlebrains is Boateng leaving? Seems a bit moody, was he pissed off that Carr was named interim manager and not him?

Think we’ll no for sure by Wednesday, if there’s no announcement then we can start to think more is going on. Makes 0 sense to not have frank in for Saturday

I'm a bit confused. King wants to work with the structure, but surely he would have known that Lampard would want to bring his own people in.

That would have been one of the very first things discussed wouldn't it and known from the very start of negotiations.
Working within the structure isn't the same as working with the personnel in that structure.

Could have been some differences in understanding?

Think it’s safe to say if he’s not in after the Cardiff game it’s off

If it's a done deal why can't they announce it today and say Lampard starts the job on Wednesday.

Looks like it's not going to happen that'll please a few.

It is very rare that a manager however well paid gets a club in financial trouble. Their contracts whilst material are dwarfed by most clubs transfer business.

Part of the reason owners separate the manager from transfer negotiations is to help limit the risk associated with a manager not using any agreed budget well.

Because I’m guessing they don’t want to take anything away from the game tomorrow, it’s all part of some plan like some have suggested to get Sheffield and Burnley out the way, that’s what the sky guy seemed to suggest

guessing There‘s no point announcing him until he’s actually in place for a game, it’ll be a circus as soon as he’s announced takes the focus of the Burnley game, TBH if it does end up being Lampard they’re doing it the right way, keeping it very quiet as it should be,

kept quiet? are you joking?

it’s been common knowledge Lampard was no 1 target the day after robins had left

It has, the only real news has come from a Man Utd fan with a podcast, what @Saddlebrains said earlier makes sense and prob the first real news we’ve had, there hasn’t been one bit of proof we’re actually talking to Lampard until today

Ok then, Sky talking bollocks again then.
