which is my point. People who are understandably gutted he's gone are throwing mud at everyone else and when they do, there's no mention of MR being part of the team that got us into this situation. I don't get that at all.

Few are though.
Read through the threads, its the ones who who wanted him sacked who cant shut up about him.

The amount of times the anti Robins brigade brought him up post last nights game is fucking weird.

Its just my opinion, but the time i think is down too the ideas on the structure and role. Doug wanted a head of coaching with the remit being solely to concentrate on player development, team shape and set up for games. And Lampard said no i want to be a manager with an assistant i trust and a coach i know can get more out of the players. He may also want more of a say in players transfers and use of a lian system to get more quality within the squad.

Doug might think Lampard is the best candidate therefore has had to bend to get the person he rated the most. I can see Jones, Edwards and Morris in with him and a director of coaching following. That will leave a few looking at the exit door, which will be needed. This is a clean sweep and will all be on Dougs head..

Any Lampards yet? Sick of reading all the whining and hearing about the performance director…
No, just some new woman in the ranks named Fran Clamp-hard

This is irrational Malc.

Perhaps look at coaches and players involved in the match on the day versus a performance director. Unless, you believe it was her fault for the late goals we’ve scored and won the game?

Does she deserve credit for the wins v Luton, Oxford and the draw v Sunderland and Sheff U?
Doesn’t the late goals statistic prove that religiously bringing subs on at 60 minutes is a fucking brilliant idea.

Yeah possibly. I can accept MR was DoF in effect, but they and Doug will form the leadership team. Probably Lampard until a DoF comes in too. That’s what makes her uniquely open to criticism for the overall state compared to say Boateng or Carr, because she does have a wider responsibility. It’s not sexist to point that out. I think both the criticism and defence of her has gone a bit too far, but she’s a big girl in a big job so I’m sure can handle appropriate questioning on what her impact has been so far.

Doug King made clear that he is happy with Dr Roberts impact in her role and has defended her publicly.

Pertinently, what he also articulated at the conference, is that he wasn’t happy MR broke up the relationship with AV, felt that Robins would get exposed without AV/suitable replacement and the ‘deck’ didn’t have the ‘elite coaching’ required to achieve our goals with the new structure that MR wanted. Robins is accountable here, hence the decision to sack him.

This is why Lampard is going to bring not just a number 2 but another coach or two to join him in the immediate short term. Over the next year, that could be expanded even further if he has success.

King has been clear on what he believes to be going right and wrong at the club.

We are allowed to question King of course. And again, the point is simply where she sits in terms of accountability, not whether it was right or wrong to sack robins or whatever.

I hope Doug King is in the announcement video in a Lampard shirt and his pants.
With the amount of time this has now been "very close" i have a strong mental image of Lampard edging King for 2 days straight but refusing to finish him off. Only when he agrees to pay up for the coaching staff will he grant him his sweet release.

“Every game is important, just because the teams below us in the league doesn’t mean we can approach it any differently.
We’ve approached every game as if we’re going to win it and we’ve approached it with the right information with and without the ball and we will do the same against Cardiff.”

Dunno if I’m reading between the lines but the way Carr is speaking it sounds like he is taking the game Saturday? Doesn’t scream something being imminent

Wouldn't blame Lampard if he pulled out. 😱

That is all it is really. Most of us were critical of Robins towards the end of his tenure, but those that were making threads and polls wanting him out, and were pushing the sacking narrative on threads have gone in very hard on trying to double down. All we are seeing here is classic projection. We are supposed to move on and forget about Robins as even saying his name is triggering to some.

The thing about the Performance Director is weird as well. She has some responsibility in that job, and even if 'fitness levels are better than ever', it certainly isn't matching up to what we are seeing on the pitch. The only thing I can say with absolute confidence is that the sleep cycles seem to be successful. Our players are constantly napping. No - she isn't to blame for MR getting sacked, but she can be criticised fairly given that she is a director on a decent salary, yet for some white-knights, asking questions of her is also a trigger.

Strange times at the moment. The fact we have hundreds of people refreshing a thread waiting for Frank Lampard to get announced more or less confirms it. I feel pretty detached from it all at the moment, and quite honestly, it has been a shite few weeks supporting the club.

You're only allowed to question those who get questioned by the loudest on here. If you question anyone else you get accused of unfairly questioning someone or showing bias.

In reality if you take a high profile position you're putting yourself into the firing line when things don't go to plan.
