Devo beat them to it though, by one year.It was Duran Duran that did planet earth, not the God Machine.
What does it matter? He was probably just a bit more aloof/introverted.Apparently MR was a bit of a stuck-up prick at times during his tenure - anybody shed any light on that?
he chopped and changed and imo, it cost him his job.
Yeah, I think that's about it. Towards the end he seemed to have tied himself in knots. Real f*cken shame.
The big difference has been the defence/GK. Without the form of Dovin we wouldn't be anywhere near the playoffs. We're also putting more chances away. Not the top 20 podcast covers interesting stats on Robins games this year versus Lampard, about 25 mins into the podcast, very marginal improvements but made a big difference to results.
Think the big difference is the change of approach with the players. Not the top 20 podcast covers interesting stats on Robins games this year versus Lampard, about 25 mins into the podcast, very marginal improvements but made a big difference to results.
Well said.I'm surprised at the number of people on here citing Lampard doesn't want for money as a reason he wouldn't take another job with higher pay.
There are loads of people who don't want for money and could live comfortably for the rest of their days who will willingly debase themselves of someone throws a wad of cash at them.
The whole tenet of capitalism is that no matter how much you have you can always want more.
Mark.
Next question?

Would Mark of turned it round would he still have the faith or has Frank done super frankie things,
Ive said since day 1 i hope it works for frank
So Lampard has taken us from 17th to winning our next game to be in the top 6 and you don't think he should be judged on this brilliant turnaround?Mark did a great job for us over several seasons and his sides always started slow and were better 2nd half of the season.
Once Mark had gone and Frank came in, you had to back Frank. He has made a good start. But I said I wouldn't judge him until next season and that still applies.
The most disappointing thing is that a lot of what Frank has done in terms of tactics and personnel is stuff a lot of people on here have said we should have been doing from the start. Be a bit more direct and get the ball forward quicker. Play Dovin and Kitching etc. Instead MR continued with the slow possession football that was creating very few good chances and leaving us open to being punished by the howler at the back.So Lampard has taken us from 17th to winning our next game to be in the top 6 and you don't think he should be judged on this brilliant turnaround?
How about if we're in the Prem next season? We have a decent chance of making it. We still have to play 7 out of the bottom 8 sides. Most of our recent wins have been against sides in the top half.
People on here say all sorts of things, much of it nonsense & I'm sure I'm as guilty as anyone of getting it wrong (or spot on).The most disappointing thing is that a lot of what Frank has done in terms of tactics and personnel is stuff a lot of people on here have said we should have been doing from the start. Of course Lampard's coaching staff and training have made a massive impact - EMC looks like a totally different player (albeit aided by Wright's injury) and others like Torp, Kitching and Dovin are playing better.
Fair play to Frank for coming in and sorting it out though.

He should be judged whatever happens this season and not just if we go up."How about if" well if we are in the Prem next season, it will obviously be a success won't it, plus it will be next season.
I said he has made a good start. That is all you
can say at the moment realistically. Remember Robins got us into the play off final. Frank hasn't achieved that yet, even if he has put us in a good position to achieve it.
Take one game at a time is my attitude, there is still a lot of football to be played yet. I would be happy if we didn't get into the top six until after the final game. It's where you finish that counts.
If Haji Wright had cut his toenails and we got to the final MR would probably still be here !
How do you know?He wouldn’t
A European campaign - hahaha. How do you know?
If we'd have reached the Cup final, that would have affected what followed. Circumstances would be different due to the different variables. We'd perhaps have attracted different players; maybe had a different coaching set-up. Maybe we'd be struggling in the league due to the protracted European campaign.
You can't make definitive statements based on hypothetical situations.

My God. Score more goals and concede less that took him 9 minutes to tell us. Football is chaos. Live it and love it. This kind of stuff on social media and Sky is sucking the life out of the sport.Good video on the difference between Robins and Lampard
Tell me you didn't understand the post without typing, 'I didn't understand the post'.A European campaign - hahaha.
It's the same fantasy world you are making definitive statements on, so why not?So now in this fantasy world we are beating Man City in the final as well
Same response as to the other two:We would’ve only been in Europe had we won it all and we don’t beat a pissed up Man City team imo.

I don't know how many more times I'm going to need to say this. These were just hypothetical examples (however unlikely) of possibilities had things turned out differently. I used them to make a point (not clearly enough, obviously). They weren't necessarily examples of things I thought would have happened.I agree reaching the FA Cup Final would have made a big difference to the teams performance towards the end of the season, probably not going on that losing run and miss out on the playoffs.
Winning the Cup Final that's a different matter, even as bad as Man City played on the day I think they would have beaten us anyway, but it would have been a great occasion.

The point was you can't take an event that didn't happen and then say "THIS WOULD DEFINITELY HAVE HAPPENED" if it had. Well, not to the extent that Grendel did, anyway.
For the record, I think we'd have been hammered in the final had the semi had gone differently. I don't know if Robins would still have his job. No-one does.
But it's possible that this season would have been different had last season ended differently. He was dismissed for reasons nothing to do with last season

It doesn't matter if you think it wouldn't be, you still can't make a definitive statement about something hypothetical, which is what you did.
You can only speculate.
True!Well you can only speculate I won’t visit Mars before I die.
