The only strong incentive for a SISU/ccfc return to the Ricoh would be if a particularly good deal was offered. If, as you say, we are just swapping backdrops and financially there is no difference, then it isn't worth returning from a SISU/ccfc point of view.
Wasps probably do need us as the covenant issues centre around a clear potential devaluation of the site which would be strengthened by having a championship club playing there
Id argue good will among your customer base is always valuable.
Then why were they the ones to end talks?
If I were a Wasps bondholder I wouldn't be very happy about being asked to waive the covenants while they were turning down obvious income.
This cant be anything but positive news. Im sure there would be a break out clause as with most tenancies.
Im sure all the party's will be trying to strike a deal in time for City of Culture 2021. Surely this has got to be the aim.
Be excellent PR and would be a massive deal for sports and Culture in the city. Would be great feel good factor fans or no fans in the ground.
My thoughts as well. They need to find money from everywhere, make their balance sheet as good as possible and keep the remaining shareholders on board. If I were a Wasps bondholder I wouldn't be very happy about being asked to waive the covenants while they were turning down obvious income.
This is also why the “Wasps really need us” stuff makes no sense as they clearly didn’t need us that much to turn us down before.
Always in Coventry, that's the answerSharing a pitch with a well established championship club with a premiership quality pitch or sharing a rugby pitch that will be churned up... I know my preference if there’s no fans allowed in

Screwing each other financially is the basis of a market economy. It’s not going to happen.... and before someone replies stating mutual benefits... yes, but only if a both parties think they’ve hot one over the other! I might be a bit cynical from years in businessIF wasps are instigating talks and SISU have some kind of upper hand, I hope this is an opportunity to finally get it right after all these years.
Weather that's a decent cost and length of rental while they actually start to build at the Uni - or an amicable partnership seeing us buy into a 50/50 share of the Richo lease and all the perks the council offered wasps.
Stop the one upmanship, stop trying to screw each other over ... get it resolved one way or the other.
Wasps season finishes in the next couple of weeks. Can only be viewed as positive news of course but the timing is strange from a CCFC point of view.
Whilst no fans are allowed the primary concerns should be the quality of the pitch + whatever is financially beneficial to us.
The playing surface at St Andrews is vastly superior & we know there is a significant break clause to get out of the St Andrews deal.
Not sure we should be propping up Wasps in these circumstances.
True and they might prefer a lower return rather than administration of the company and getting 10p in the £1It depend who owns the bonds...........
7 to 10 years is now being talked about. In five years...
pride comes before the fall
7 to 10 years is now being talked about.
Contrary to what many believe, no site has even been agreed as yet, let alone secured.
All that has actually happened is that some "talks" have taken place, and nothing more.
I have a suspicion that the Conservatives change of position to potentially oppose the new ground is possibly connected to all the conservative members, donars and voters living in expensive houses on gibbet hill and cryfields. They don’t fancy having football fans walking past their placeActually the timing of the Cov Conservatives breaking ranks with the Labour councillors is perhaps a pointer
If you're right Mark and Pete deserve a lot of credit
This could apply to literally any participant in this mess.
but we have heard multiple times that it was wasps or a 3rd party of wasps that have been the reason for the deal collapsing.
Doesn’t rugby season finish soon. So that would be another income stream gone for wasps until the new season starts
If only limited numbers of fans will be allowed to attend, I'd sooner play at Cov rugby club than the Ricoh.Always in Coventry, that's the answer
Yes, some of the bondholders may have been instrumental in this whole sagaIt depend who owns the bonds...........
The Baseball ground?Maybe a bad Ricoh pitch will help us against good footballing Championship teams
Like to see Bournemouth try to play as quick on this

That would be a huge shame. There has to be an agreement that suits both parties for the good of us fansScrewing each other financially is the basis of a market economy. That's what Joy herself quoted in a web meeting approx 2 weeks ago to a close family member of mine who is going to be inevitably involved should the "idea" of a new stadium progress.Where have you seen about the 7/10 years mate?
