We're sitting here reading SBT together of course.HEY!!!! What you doing here?? .. Thought you were having a meeting with Joy and Co???
We're sitting here reading SBT together of course.
[Serious reply: All done with, putting a press release together, will post here as soon as it is done.]
I imagine "don't like" doesn't come into it. The JR and threat of further legal action, along with historical dealings with them, would be reason enough to not entertain them I would have thought.
If SISU came to the table and offered to drop all the legals, and put a bid forward. That maybe a different story.
CCC may have a statutory duty to get the most for their assets, but as far as we know, only 1 company has made a bid for ACL.The council have a statutory duty to get the most for their assets, and whether SISU are involved in legal proceedings or not, if they suggested that they might like to be a party to any potential sale then it would be hard for CCC to legally justify keeping them out of it.

Hopefully SISU will realise that they are now in the last chance saloon (regarding acquiring ACL), that their bluffs and threats are now pointless, and will play fair and square for once, by paying up the going rate.
Problem is... what if the deal isn't 'fair' but is overvalued, and Wasps go pop as a result 3-4 years down the line?
Are we suggesting that SISU should match a deal that isn't right for the club?
Are we seriously suggesting a council should succumb to market forces in entirity?
For if so, doesn't that just give a mandate for SISU to sue, sue and sue again... as it's all just business, right?
But they have, Still are and will be well Into the future ...................Won't they ??
Maybe SISU could buy the Coundon Rd ground - assuming it is still there?
You'd have to knock down a complete housing estate if you wanted to build there.
Is Ricoh sale to "Wasps Consortium" (who are they?) another secret agenda likely to fail?
I'm told Ray Ranson & ex CCFC people may be in on a club/Ricoh takeover plot. Still hard to see why SISU would sell.
I'm also told some councillors complain they had no detail of Wasps deal ahead of party meetings on Mon and Tues vote.
Far too many people on these boards simply will not place an ounce of blame on either the council or acl , ever since we moved to the ricoh , they have also proved , though maybe not as bad as other parties like sisu , that they also do not give a fucking shit about coventry city fc or the city of coventry. Business wise its the right deal for the council and acl , morally its absolutely disgusting and some of our supporters are welcoming this and are willing to see a clubs supporters get shafted (wasps) just because it makes business sense .
disgusting
Im just very unhappy about the way supporters have been treated over recent years , im absolutely fed up of coming on here , going on social media , talking to friends etc , and never EVER having anything positive to talk about in regards to ccfc , throughout the last 20 years we have been fleeced by cRooked owners , tossed out to the wolves and left to dry by every single person involved with the club , and its us that are supposed to go up and play happly clappy supporters whilst nobody absolutely nobody gives the tiniest fuck about us off the field .I can certainly see why CCC, ACL and anyone else involved would be happy to get shot of the Ricoh and all the associated hassle. Equally I do not agree with franchising and would not want to see another team, of any sport, moved her against their wishes so in many ways we're looking at two different issues.
The big problem is if the Ricoh is up for sale, and the council at least while Lucas has been in charge have always said they would listen to any offer, we need SISU to put in a bid and buy the bloody thing but they seem hellbent on not backtracking from the 'we're building a new ground' mantra.
Support the heritage and culture in its city?
Build a society rather than a bank balance?
If ACL CCC sell the Ricoh... Would that allow sisu to build a stadium in Coventry?
Never thought I'd live to the day whereby I'd hear 'Sisu' and 'playing fair and square' in the same sentence.
A new stadium would kill the club.
Why would it? Did it kill Rotherham? Or Brighton? Or Derby?
If this does happen then I guess CCC would not now have any objection for us to build within the City if we could find the land.

a question as to where all this fuss was when Blaze moved to Cov?
I believe I have also argued against their very existence too

Your memory fails you Torch, it's the club not CCC who have an issue building in Cov. The club have never even considered it (according to them) CCC not only have said they're not against it but legally couldn't be.
In all this noise, I still have the question as to why Sisu haven't approached the council.
And in a slightly mischevious way, a question as to where all this fuss was when Blaze moved to Cov? Sudden attacks of principles make me suspicious.
At the end of the day, if CCFC don't want it, the council should get another tenant in. If Wasps fans don't want it then I hope it's blocked (I've signed their petition), but something tells me this shitstorm will rear its head whoever the new tenant will be.
You dont count. Are you still on the Marlon King boycott or are you attending now?
To be fair Rob S, the info. in the post above is pretty much a re-hash of the CT article from yesterday or the day before.....nothing new or revealing in the content whatsoever....
...so if he is a plant....he needs better material.

All the council have to do is offer SISU the chance to match or better the Wasps offer and bingo!
Make this public and all the PR companies in the world could not hide the fact the council have been fair to all parties.
By doing this would effectivley force SISU to bid and cough up money. Or look like the bad guys.
SISU would be in the councils pocket.
Can't compare with these Clubs Torch. Derby: Baseball ground not fit for purpose, and no chance of redevelopment (also sat in the floodplain), Rotherham: moving back to a new ground in the town from playing in Sheffield, Brighton: New ground backed by Central Govt after years of borrowed ground and groundshare.
so now we really see both sides true colours, neither SISU or acl/ccc care about the club or the fans, unforgivable SISU moving us to northampton, and unforgivable what acl/ccc are about to let happen to the ricoh, before anybody accuses me of taking sides I'm not, but when SISU do something everyone's up in arms, the ricohs about to be sold to a rugby club and there's nothing, all the crap we went through to get us back to the Ricoh and now wer'e going to be playing in a ground owned by a rugby club franchise playing in front of 10,000 crowds, if there was a time to stand together and do something about this it's now, there's no sixfields divide now so no excuse, this time maybe the WHY signs should be aimed at the council. 92 league clubs and ours is the one that's being ripped apart, never dull is it ?
