Front 3 vs Stoke (1 Viewer)

Assuming Haji is 100% fit what would be your front 3 against Stoke?

Simms EMC and Sakamoto were great last night but Haji was arguably our best player last season.

Don't care. It's gonna be a dangerous front 3 regardless with a great sub go come on too

We need a proper replacement for saka on right though. Still dun o if rafa can play there or emc? I mean properly

Maybe buy a new rwb and mve can play rw when saka needs a rest

I think if Saka is injured or rested then either EMC or Haji would go on the right and the other or Palmer on the left. Technically Palmer could also cover the right but he’s much better inverted, cutting in as opposed to the other two that have the pace to go on the outside.

And that’s assuming Rafa isn’t upto the standard yet. I think we’re fairly well covered.

EMC will start the first game because Wright won't be ready.

It will be an interesting battle for the shirt through the season.

Also I think in some games, particularly against weaker opposition, we will see all four forwards on the pitch in a 442, that would be fun to watch.

Wright-Simms-EMC if Wright is close to being fit enough. He probably won’t be unless he get minutes against Roma and Werder Bremen.

His base fitness and match will be higher than most of the squad as he was involved in the Copa America.

He hasn't properly rested, then rebuilt fitness though.
You still suggesting, away at Stoke, that we drop Sakamoto, break the Saka/MVE right side and play essentially 3 up front?
Cos that ain't happening.

It'll be back to the seventies with 4-2-4 I reckon! No not really, 😊

Ignoring the easy cop out answer of 'Haji won't be fit' and addressing the actual question where we were asked to assume he was 100%... err... idk.

Sakamoto Simms EMC had a lovely balance to it but you can't just bench your top scorer can you? I think it is probably Wright... for now.

Edit: what a lovely problem to have

Apparently, Brandon Thomas - Asante used to play on the Wing, so Could be an option for Sakamoto if he gets Injured.

Mark Robins is going have Plenty of options this Season. 😇

I think it's going to be very fluid this season with players dropping in and out of position and switching roles throughout the games.

All fit I go with Wright - Simms - Saka

Seems weird to pick the three we had last year given the improvements we've made but I feel like if they're all firing then you play those that are comfortable playing the system in a competitive game and have played for the manager before.

EMC & BTA come on against tired legs and cause havoc.

BTA
Eccles Tavares Rodriquez Wright
Sheaf Torp
Sakamoto Rudoni EMC
Simms

Rush Goalie rotating every 5 minutes. Bring on Bobby and Kitch once we’re 7-0 up to hold out til the final whistle.

I'm not sure Wright will be match fit in time.

I'd go EMC - Simms - Saka.

Agreed, this will almost certainly be the lineup for Stoke (obviously unless any of the 3 get a knock between now and then). Haji and BTA will get 20-30 minutes off the bench for a few games when they are ready. Then the competition for places will really start!

I wouldn't be at all surprised if a good offer comes in for Wright in the next couple of weeks and we accept it.

If Wright is fully fit he starts left wing 100%. Top scorer & arguably best player last season.

Annoying he went to Copa America as I would’ve backed him to kick on even further with a full pre-season with us but he hasn’t had much of one again.

What’s great is that we don’t have to rush him back and he can start the season as impact sub now we have EMC

If I'm not taking the easy way, I think Wright starts (if he's fit). He's our top scorer, you don't just come in and replace him after a couple of friendlies.

Wright - Simms - Saka

To think we have the quality of EMC and BTA waiting to come on, both fresh with pace, trickery and a very high work ethic. That front 5 are going to cause some serious problems.

Wright has had just 2 minutes playing time in pre-season and missed a week or two of training. It’s highly unlikely that Robins is going to throw him straight into the starting lineup against Stoke, especially when he has a more than adequate replacement in EMC.
He’ll probably get some limited minutes off the bench tomorrow and Tuesday and then will be gradually reintroduced.

Saka simms Haji if all fit and firing. The new boys earn the spot like those 3 had to!
If Haji not fit then the exciting EMC.
I'm thinking of Thomas-Asante as a far more useful Godden this year, which should help maintain Simms for the season touch wood. Sheaf Eccles Rudoni midfield
Mve Thomas binks Bidwell defence
Dovin between the sticks.
3 points, ground out but with an insane bench of... Palmer BTA Kitching Toro Tavares da Silva EMC and Eccles. Can't fucking wait for it all to start what a wonderful squad we have

Eccles is so fit this year he's starting and on the bench!
