Isn't it coventry building society who are offering the free tickets as a marketing tool for their branches not wasps ? I assume as part of their sponsorship they are entitled to tickets each match to use how they choose.

Wasps are in a mess like many professional teams. However you have to assume they are still able to raise finance or partners with finance if you consider the infrastructure projects they have undertaken. It is inaccurate to apply football club finance models to a rugby club and to assume the main income they aim for is from crowds (as poor as they are obviously) . Wasps are not as reliant on crowd numbers as say CCFC are. However central distributions and cvc deal are key, both will have taken big hits. Part of the attendance dip is simply because their team have under performed, that can change. We all know how fickle people can be.

What is a little perverse is that the success of CCFC helps the wasp finances, ie rent, overhead contribution, a slice of the f&b income, increased profile of the stadium and not least increased asset value of the stadium lease. There is also going to be an increase in events because of the higher profile.

Will be an interesting couple of years financially coming up for both teams.

Going to depend if the intention is to stay at end of the lease in 9 years time. If the intention is still to build our own then going to be hard for sisu to persuade wasps to change for short term.

Otherwise I would assume the lease will apply as long as it is active. I would think the lease has financial terms that change with promotion or relegation.

Sisu might want to change it but wasps don't have to. But until that scenario happens who knows your guess is as good as mine.

It is not a case of suddenly knowing the results... Anyway, I'm sure they turned themselves inside out making that decision. City was only going one direction with SISU and of course they will celebrate the success. Tinged with a dislike of SISU.

Not forgetting that life is short and traipsing off to Northampton and Birmingham may have been too much for some elderly etc.

Some of their fans spoke about how Wycombe squeezed them out of Adam’s Park, meaning the club had to find a new home or would’ve gone bust. Fair enough, but then couldn’t see the hypocrisy in squeezing out the football club who the ground was built for which could’ve potentially meant the demise of them. Wankers!

I'll personally never forgive anybody who sang "City 'till I die" then decided they didn't care because they didn't like the club's owners and somebody franchised a Rugby team in. I hope their morals aren't as flexible still and they stick where they are.

Nah fuck them. They deserted us when we needed them most. The owners are still the same, the only thing that’s changed is we’re not on a downward spiral - Christ the stadium position is still perilous.

I’m sure the holding company isn’t but unless the rugby club significantly improves revenue it could well become an albatross round the neck of the owner.

Bit of a poor response that I think - its not great that a professional rugby club that has existed here for over 100 years was not considered when Wasps were granted permission to play here. I get the impression they are heading rapidly back to when they were at Wycombe with little local support and struggling to attract interest - of course the problem is a separate organisation I assume based in Malta ultimately owns the lease.

There will I am sure also be a fee escalation if CCFC get promoted and more benefits to the company owning the lease which in turn can support the London rugby clubs finances at the expense of the local club that has been here for a century. Its not a great look really.
