He had the same hair. I’m not sure it’s as bad as people are making out. If someone came on with an Afro we’d call them a shit Simms even if they’re not English or even black. Both had the standard issue Asian man haircut, so they looked a bit alike. I think comparing it to monkey chants is ludicrous tbh.
At last some common sense. He had the same hair. I’m not sure it’s as bad as people are making out. His ethnicity was a mystery to me.Was Greggs Korean?
Meh. Same continent. As close as we are going to get to make the song workI thought it was the thickest moment. Sakamoto is Japanese and Jun-Ho is South Korean.
Looks like I'm late to the party on this but my take is it was a bit ignorant and not particularly bright, but certainly done without thought or malice and I think some are looking a bit too deep into it to be offended. There's enough real racism by genuine pricks that should be called out and dealt with first. Unfortunately they continue to get away with it and because too many aren't dealing with the root, I think it antagonises and misguided attempts at humour like this are magnified.
We still have huge problems with racism and 'I'm offended' posts on the internet makes people think they're doing their bit. How about the next time you hear something that's wrong, call it out or if you're not comfortable doing that, report it to a steward or text the anonymous number, don't come on here saying how out of order it was or you're part of the problem.
Any hint of it should be called out or it will get worse and become a problem

Again, it’s people who don’t go to games and don’t hear this chant at least once a season who are offended.
A sweeping statement if ever there was one.
I’d be staying quiet in regards to attending games with your paltry 1900 points.
Yes, needs updating to be more representative of the trans communityThe 'Oh Coventry is wonderful' chant needs to be phased out too, preferably stopped altogether.
You've obviously never been to Keresley.I love East Asia/South East Asia as well easily the most friendly part of the world
Oh well, if Kathy Burke say's so then it must be true.I’ve no idea if the people who started, or were singing, the “Sh* Sakamoto” song intended it to come out as racist. But it sounded awful to me.
The Latibeaudiere chant is awful, playing up to lazy racist tropes. Watch the Linford Christie documentary and see how this sh*t affected him.
Seeing lots of the usual “snowflake” and “you can’t say anything anymore” comments on here. And, you know what, crack on.
To quote Kathy Burke: “I love being woke. It’s much nicer than being an ignorant f***ing c**t”
She's not in the intercityfirm these days mate.Oh well, if Kathy Burke say's so then it must be true.
Just wondering what KB's criteria is to qualify being an 'IFC'?
Just not being woke?
Sounds a little reminiscent of George W's 'You're either with us or against us' proclamation in the days/weeks following 9/11 and preceding the invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq.
Yes but we can't sing 'Hey Jude' at him, that's distasteful. Is singing “ your just a shit Bellingham “ to Bellingham allowed ?
For me it's because the stands/terraces aren't full with blokes trying to fight each other anymore. Singers corner is full of families, kids, women and girls. Funny chants, banter, all good, but anything remotely racist, sexist or any other 'ist' needs to be pulled out these days.I’ve no idea if the people who started, or were singing, the “Sh* Sakamoto” song intended it to come out as racist. A lot of our songs are plagiarist. For me it's because the stands/terraces aren't full with blokes trying to fight each other anymore. Singers corner is full of families, kids, women and girls. ...singing “ your just a shit Bellingham “
Your brother plays for England but you're shit.
Your brother plays for England but you're shit.
Your brother plays for England

Dyslexic version, she is.She's not in the intercityfirm these days mate.
Not the biggest fan of that chant but I'm sure there was a game where I saw Joel himself clapping along to it and laughing. The Latibeaudiere chant is awful, playing up to lazy racist tropes. Watch the Linford Christie documentary and see how this sh*t affected him.
Totally agree. One is English, the other Norwegian. Really ignorant behaviour and should be a banning order.
Disgusting and vile racism from the Bournemouth fan base!
