He had the same hair. I’m not sure it’s as bad as people are making out. If someone came on with an Afro we’d call them a shit Simms even if they’re not English or even black. Both had the standard issue Asian man haircut, so they looked a bit alike. I think comparing it to monkey chants is ludicrous tbh.

If you look at our second goal, Sakamoto and Bae are running side by side with an identical haircut from behind and the same height. Both tricky wingers, both Asian. They have far more in common than Marcus Maddison and Andy Carroll or whoever else we’ve sang about.

Again, it’s people who don’t go to games and don’t hear this chant at least once a season who are offended.

Same as the Lati chant, it’s not funny and absolutely shite as a chant but it’s not racist.

Whatever. There’s standard issue white man haircut as well. Right now it’s noodles on your head shaped like a peaked cap.

Looks like I'm late to the party on this but my take is it was a bit ignorant and not particularly bright, but certainly done without thought or malice and I think some are looking a bit too deep into it to be offended. There's enough real racism by genuine pricks that should be called out and dealt with first. Unfortunately they continue to get away with it and because too many aren't dealing with the root, I think it antagonises and misguided attempts at humour like this are magnified.

We still have huge problems with racism and 'I'm offended' posts on the internet makes people think they're doing their bit. How about the next time you hear something that's wrong, call it out or if you're not comfortable doing that, report it to a steward or text the anonymous number, don't come on here saying how out of order it was or you're part of the problem.

I did call it out in the stadium I said it's a bit racist a few people agreed one person behind me was laughing and said it's obviously just because they are both wingers.

I’ve no idea if the people who started, or were singing, the “Sh* Sakamoto” song intended it to come out as racist. But it sounded awful to me.

The Latibeaudiere chant is awful, playing up to lazy racist tropes. Watch the Linford Christie documentary and see how this sh*t affected him.

Seeing lots of the usual “snowflake” and “you can’t say anything anymore” comments on here. And, you know what, crack on.

To quote Kathy Burke: “I love being woke. It’s much nicer than being an ignorant f***ing c**t” 😀
