The club is opening up Block 11 and tickets will only be available from the CCFC Superstore tomorrow morning at 9.30am...Coventry City Football Club are making further tickets available for Friday night’s return to the Ricoh Arena after approval from the Safety Advisory Group to open up more seats in the South Stand.
The club is opening up Block 11, which holds just over 1,000 supporters, for sale.
Some Season Tickets have been sold in that area already but the remaining seats will go on sale at the CCFC Superstore at the Gallagher Retail Park on Thursday morning at 9.30am. They will be limited to two per person and will be cash only to speed up the queue.
They will not be available online or over the phone.
Season Ticket holders from the 2012/13 season have until 5.30pm on Thursday to purchase their seat for the Gillingham game before they are released to other supporters.
All of those remaining tickets, which will be in all areas of the ground, will be made available via the www.ccfcshop.co.uk website at 9.30am on Friday morning but not over the phone or in store.
Those tickets purchased that morning will then be available for collection at the CCFC Superstore before 4pm on Friday or from the Ricoh Arena collection point from 5.30pm.
Again, they will be limited to two per person.
Steve Waggott, chief executive of Coventry City Football Club, said: “We are delighted that we can get more tickets on sale in the South Stand because we know there is very strong demand out there for our return to the Ricoh Arena.
“As I’ve said before, we’ve crammed eight weeks’ work into about eight days but the staff have been absolutely unbelievable in the way they have dealt with the workload.
“The reason we have decided to put the South Stand on cash sale from the store only is to serve those supporters who are unable to buy via the website and to free up the phones for other enquiries.
“Then, the tickets that go on sale on Friday morning will be on the web only so supporters who haven’t been able to get to the shop have the chance to get a ticket.
“We’ve limited them to two per person because, again, we want to give as many people the chance to buy a ticket and get to the game.
“You can feel the positivity around the city about our return to the Ricoh and long may that continue. We understand there have been a few teething problems around ticketing but I hope all of our supporters can see we are doing everything we can to get as many people in the stadium as possible in as fair a way as possible.
“Everyone is looking forward to Friday night and what should be a great occasion for the club and the city.”
Tickets for the match against Gillingham are priced at £10 for adults, £5 for concessions, £1 for children and free for Junior Sky Blues under the age of 12.
