One question. If Bran can see how he does, then why in seven, or six, kingdoms does he need a master of whispers?!

He's fucking useless that's why. He uses his powers for a bit of voyeurism while he sits in his chair looking stoned off his tits.

Exactly! So why can’t he see shit and just tell the tale. Forget any masters of whispers!

Personally I enjoyed the series and the fact it causes so much debate shows how well done it was through the years. Would have liked Cersei to be eaten by the dragon, the aftermath of Dani’s death wasn’t well explained and brons absence was a shame. I thought Peter D was excellent throughout.
Difficult job to try and close down such an epic series, maybe a 10 years time bit at the end would have been better demonstrating how the new regime was coping?

no a very good ending and a great final season. ian im trying to be nice but have you ever thought maybe you are a piss poor person? maybe thats why you cant enjoy it? :)

bran as king, sansa as queen of north, the new small council,it all makes great sense and you can imagine the universe continuing without us getting to see it.

like said im genuinly sad danyeares died and jon got light punishment but rest was sublime

LOL - how did you work me out so quickly...

The writers decided to finish one of the best TV shows ever by showcasing the writing skills of a 15 year old trying to finish their English homework on the bus. I’m happy to live in the sad world that calls it out for the bullshit it is.

That said, if you’re happy fair play to you!

I think there is a bigger point here in that actually epic storytelling has generally been finished poorly. Thinking back to LOTR as an example... even in horror (IT and the Stand are 2 examples of this by S King)

Unless of course you let the evil people win. That could work.

Its been rushed ian nothing more

Dany as mad queen killed by jon is great story. Should have been done over another 3 or 4 episodes though

Writers have to work with the time they had. Even GRRM haa praised them for 6 episode final season

Hasn't he said he won't make the books anything like the final episode?

Not that i seen. Read a story this morning where he said somethings same somethibga different as you would expect. End of day he gave showrunners an outline of how he expects to fibish books so i would imsgine mad queen and targaryen jon will both be part of the books.

It was rushed - but there was no need for it to be... that much time and effort into an epic tale deserved better thought.

Dany’s story arc made sense (even though I didn’t want it to go that way) and it could have been fleshed out a bit more as you’ve said.

It’s Jon’s story... intertwined with the Night King and Bran’s.... felt like lazy writing at the end. Like they got bored with it.

Fair points, I think it’s a tough call to compare anything to LOTR and even that ending was a little stretched. The fact that they had 2 years, it shouldn’t be rushed. I was happy with the ending but the night king end was way too quick

You keep persisting with this lazy writing bulkshit. it was rushed AND NOTHING MORE. There must be reasons for 6 episode fibal seaaon be it talent contracts or schedules or budget issues.

Dan and Dave wanted to bugger off and do Star Wars - they turned down more episodes AND seasons.

Not too long to wait for the prequel anyhow, perhaps a year or so!
They've started filming in Belfast already, actors including:
John Simm
Miranda Richardson
Naomi Watts

Game of Thrones prequel: What we know
Hopefully Martin is Chief writer for all season's.

and if thats true then it is the reason we have a 6 episode season! not ideal but also not lazy writing. got us to finish line but it had to be sped up

you can be annoyed that they took on a new project but you cannot say its lazy writing as it clearly wasnt

im dealing in facts here, stop being rude and just accept i am right

Agree with @Ian1779 it was very lazy writing, Hollywoodesque even.

Perhaps they were practicing for Star Wars, idk.

Maybe Gilly died, maybe she ran off with somebody else, maybe she had the baby and it wasn't Sam's so he cut her throat.

God knows, they forgot about her.

100 nice camera shots of Ayra walking on a boat though.

You're easily pleased that's all.

For 2 years of hype, promotion and a previous 7 seasons of generally excellent TV - I expected more.

you have shown you are not a game of thrones fan so dont talk about waiting 7 years. shows too smart for you and rather than smarten yourself up with help of a master like me you are blaming the show

poor form and with that i am afraid i give up on educating you

Just remembered they tried to piece together daenerys‘ fall into madness into a ‘previously on’ because they essentially forced it into 40 minutes of screen time during the season.

It had to be done now, cast want to move on to different things, the writers have already agreed to do a Star Wars Trilogy...

Not sure that necessarily means you have to have shit writing.

Agreed, Im thinking the problem is that they've tried to be to faithful to what GRRM told em was the ending of the story / books, but they've been making a TV programme. A TV programme which has been concentrating on a couple of characters, but then by using the books ending we feel as though we've been blindsided. I reckon the best description is that we've been watching the story unfold, but from the wrong / different viewpoint.

They try to condense 2/3 seasons in 6 episodes....

We were told season 8 had shock value similar to the red wedding.

I think the closest was Arya killing the night king. Even that was like meh.
