Listen I am no mr moral person of the year . com

I am stating a fact that hundreds of pounds are being quoted here ............. no harm in a flutter every week but some people especially in the current climate will fall foul . If you think that I am wrong to say so then i would suggest you dont bet also.

I bet £5 a week and bloody love it. Some times i win, some times i lose. Some times i win big, but if i lose, i only lose £5. I bet what I can afford to lose.

Apart from chat on this site, I dont know Astute (apart from his son knows all about Jennings). The Hundreds he is betting he might be able to afford, or he might have in accout from previous winnings.

Who am I, or you to judge what he can / cant afford to bet ?

The fact you call yourself Cov boy is no random thing (aged 9 by any chance?), some advice from a man to a boy............... being a boy when you grow up and have a real life and pay your way then you realise what money means

I am being there and doing it every day of my life and have been for many years

I could not give a shit what you think of me , who are you anyway? I dont care what you earn , who gives a shit anyway?

I am a very happy person with a good life, if you cannot understand why I have said what I said then good luck to you. I have morals and if actively encourage gambling on a huge scale then you have answered all my questions of you, as a person.

End of .

Dont get all this.

Astute has spent about £300 and won £500, but lets say he lost it all.

Thats what some people have spent on this weekend getting to the sheff utd game, we looking to curb all spending or just on certain activities ?

Surely its all relative ?

The amounts mate , doing a few quid on a bet or the lottery but hundreds .............. it is his perogative and for him to do but some people who are not as clever will lose ..... for sure. I hate the idea people could be ruined by gambling. Chasing good money after bad.

Get your point, but if your a season ticket holder, you might as well hand in your season ticket, cause Cov have been gambling for ages. Lets face it "we aint paying rent" is one massive gamble that could end up with us being wound up. Pretty sure thats a bigger gamble that Astute.

Maybe you should be writing to SISU to comment on this as well ?

How about on both points.

Lots of people like a bet. I used to lose lots. Then over the years I got educated. The internet and inplay helped.

Never bet what you can't afford to lose and still have a smile on your face. Only go for value as no result has a guarantee. The Swindon one last night was a value bet. I saw they had gone behind. I checked the stats. Swindon had most of the possession. Most of the shots. Nearly all the shots on target. Crawley were 1.8 to win and 1.82 not to win. No brainer.

I start the season each year with £250 in my account. If I lose it all then my season is over. As the kitty grows so can my bets. This equates to a fiver a week. That £250 is what it costs me on average to go to one game. Would you call that a waste of money? I would be happy if a few people on here have been following my bets as they will have made a decent profit. At the end of the season I withdraw the money from my account, leaving £250 for the next season. I give half of it to charity and treat my family with the other half. A few seasons ago I bought a car with my half.

Games in hand.......yesterday showed games in hand mean nothing unless teams get points from them.

1 Tranmere lost at home to Crewe 0 points
2 Donny lost at Bury 2-0 0 points
3 Bournemouth won 3 points
4 Swindon draw 1 point
5 Brentford lost to Yeovil 3-0 0 points
6 Sheff utd lost to us :claping hands: 0 points
7 us 3 points

So the top 6 sides got 4 points between them from 6 games. Yet some still say we won't make the top 6  Yeovil are now in the top 6. I remember the grief I got when I said I thought they had a decent squad and could be in the top 6 at the end of the season. I remember the grief I got when I said I thought we would finish above Sheff Utd.

We still have winter to get through when the smaller squads will struggle. This is now hitting teams. The injury free teams are getting wins. We have a squad that can cover this. Nearly every other team can't.

Games in hand...........
Tranmere 0
Donny 1
Bournemouth 0
Swindon 1
Yeovil 1
Brentford 1
Sheff Utd 2
Cov
Warsaw played one more than us
Crewe 1, 1 point behind and GD 12 worse
Orient 0
Notts County 1 but 4 points behind
MK Franchise 2 and 4 points behind
Crawley 2 and 4 points behind
Stevenage 3 and 7 points behind

So which team is looking good with their games in hand? Sheff Utd maybe, but they have just sold their best player and goalscorer. We just caught up with all the teams above us except for one by 2 points or more. We are THE form team. We have THE form striker. We have a good manager, good spirit in the squad, great fans, but most of all how many teams and fans are looking forward to playing us?

I've said it before....we are neatly tucked in just with the chasing pack, like the Kenyan long distance runners, waiting for the bell on the last lap.

Now is the time to hit a winning streak of five or six games!

Can't comment on gambling tho', but Astute seems to know what he's doing.........

By tuesday 12th feb , most games in hand will have been played, only then will we see a true reflection of where we are. I myself think we wont be too far away from where we sit now ( with a positive result v Yoevil )

Saturday is going to be key. We certainly can't afford to lose.

I see Yeovil have won 5 on the bounce.

Hoping a desperate Oldham team will turn them over. Getting to the stage now where teams at the bottom start getting desperate and really start fighting tooth and nail. I see Hartlepool beat Notts Country yesterday and Bury beat Doncaster.

An Oldham win wouldn't at all surprise me to be honest.

It's our failure to convert the chances we make which is my main concern. We seem to create an awful lot, which is excellent, but are really shy at putting the ball away. This always gives teams hope of grabbing a goal at some point in the knowledge that may well get them the result.

We do seem to have great difficulty finishing teams off when we are on top and quite often let the opposition back into games.

Robins did say he was putting in extra work with the strikers to address it-perhaps it will pay off soon.

Completely agree Brighton, especially as we nearly always concede.

If one more person tells me Yeovil are in the top 6 I think I will explode, have you missed the numerous posts about the sky an bbc tables being wrong last night?
