Personally I am pleased to have got someone at last. That the villa fans really rate the lad is an added bonus. Am looking forward to seeing him play ........

BUT can we please give the lad a chance/time if he doesnt score or doesnt rate a 10 in the first game he plays!!!!!

We havent got the money to pay any decent wages so were always going to struggle getting an experienced player in

Im sure if a decent CHEAP experienced pro was available we'd have him...but Id much rather go for Gardner than go for any old sh*t just because theyve got experience.

ps also pretty sure Thomas and Bigi are both younger and less experienced than this lad. He also sounds like a different type of player to these two. Hopefully a welcome addition

on the question of financing....... many here accuse SISU of being creative with the accounts & figures ....... perhaps they should have been a little more creative with how to finance loan players too then . Other clubs have found ways around the costs involved, have thought outside the box or created decent links with other clubs.

The lack of an experienced loan signing isnt just about the money - is probably the biggest factor but AT has said before that he has spoken to lots of players who simply didnt want to come.

But at least today we have made a very small step forward not back :claping hands:

small step forward? In the one month Gardner is there.. your team will be a completely new team...

Guarantee you win against brighton... ive just had a tenner on you to win at 4/1 and gardner to score first at 10/1...

So that's attacking midfielder Gardner at left back then - I give it two weeks before Harrison and co coach any attacking intent and confidence out of the kid

it was a small step in the overall cess pool our club is in - like you say he is only here for a month, hope he lives up to your build up

Why do you reckon they let him come on loan ...... is it just to build up from injury and get matches or is it McLeish favours others in the Villa squad ?

I think I am falling in love with a Villa fan ... must up the dosis!
You have injected more hope to the average Coventry fan than anyone else before .... oh wait, hang on .... your real name wouldn't be Ken by any chance?

Nobody knows why Mcliesh has sent him out on loan, his a stunner...

To be honest Mcleish, plays the same droggy football week in week out, has his favourites and Gardner is far to attacking and has far to much flair fot Mcliesh's style of football (Defensive and crap)

no my names rob, im a big villa fan... But at the moment take more joy watching the youth...

Honestly cant stress this enough... This lad in dynamite... I might even come to a coventry game just to watch him play...

Gurantee he scores at the weekend, and i beg you all to put some money on him...

Gardner will be the next big thing for England.

Tbh don't really know a lot about him but he sounds good, quite a few NPC clubs were after him.

Welcome to CV6 Gary!

Is this fact or rumour? Surely we should see for ourselves before we believe these rumours that he's any good. Or are we now being selective in which rumours or opinions we believe. He's so good that he's not made a first team appearance - FACT He has travelled with the first team and not made the bench - FACT. Hopefully he is as good as this rumour/opinion says but you shouldn't believe all you read on these pesky websites ;)

When did AT say that he had spoke to lots of players but they didn't want to come? I heard him say we couldn't compete financial with Barnsley.

Villageeza - I hope you're right and more than happy to give him the benefit of the doubt and support the kid 100% even if his football upbringing has been at the evil hands of our true rivals (oh how I long for those days - Moldovan, what a legend) but it was more a comment about how some people dismiss rumours and opinion deeming they want only facts yet are happy to take as gospel an opinion on a player. Selective acceptance.

We all do that....

but i watch him all the time, as villas youth are far more entertaining than our 1st team at present, -

This kid is a complete GEM!!

really cant sress this enough, if i was a coventry fan and knew what i know, id be singing and dancing from the rooftops...

Come now, that's a little weak. The SISU conspiracy theorists do not compare with fans being excited about having a highly-touted U21 international wear the colours.

He is a very strong player, both feet and he won't be afraid to put his foot in. But we have no idea why he's been loaned out, he started against Chelsea in pre-season and done more in 10mins than any of our other midfielders did. I wouldn't expect him to bang in 6 goals in that period but one thing i assure you, you will see an improvement in your midfield, someone who sees the whole round game. Great move for him to gain experience.

And one who's been touted as brilliant in several newspapers.

I just heard off a friend that Gardner isny happy about this move.. isnt happy about not being given a chance.. not good

Fucing brilliant, a player that doesn't want to be here. Hopefully he will shine to try and force a move out of Villa in Jan or at least break into their 1st team. We really need him to perform at his best.

Rumour not fact so must be dismissed - he's here -FACT so us mere insignificant scum sorry supporters must all hail our benevolent and wonderful leaders for getting us one inexperienced loan player for one month. Hope the kid is good and does well but its going to take more than him appearing in half a dozen games to turn our season around. - oops thats opinion and thats not allowed.

I think there's been enough dodgy hearsay on here without getting worked up about the hearsay from other clubs' forums! I can't imagine Mr Gardner is that annoyed to have been loaned out, considering that he accepted the assignment.

There's more dodgy hearsay than actual facts these days. It genuinely shocks me how many people take the old "heard off a friend" as gospel.

Welcome to Cov Gary Gardner! Sounds a promising player. I look forward to seeing him away at Brighton on Saturday. :p

We can't be fussy about age, experience, being good at football, having legs etc.. we just need players at the moment.

What I do question is whether his 1 month period starts from now or from saturday (first game) because if it starts from his first game then he will be eligable to play against Bristol City on Boxing day, if not, he will only play 4 games for us.

Hi guys, yet another Villa fan here.

Gardner is rated so highly by everybody at Villa, he scores goals, is a strong presence and will boss the midfield in the championship. As a 17 year old, he played against Michael Essien in the reserve league and Essien gave him his shirt afterwards, he was that good. I can see why he's been allowed to go out on loan. We've got a tough run of games and it might not be the best time to blood him, but I'd imagine he'll be played in the FA cup 3rd round. I don't see the loan being extended either :/

Some youtube links for you.

After Spurs dismantled Villa Monday night the phone in on Talksport was pure Villa fans saying why aren't they using home grown talent. More than half the callers said Gardener deserves a run in the side

I will take anything at the moment, even a young untried U21 international from a premiership club is a good start surely? Tip of the diamond player maybe? I will be at Brighton so hopefully he will play a part.

I cannot wait to see his impact on the rest of the team and if no impact then we can all moan, surprised we have signed anybody today and that Juke is still here.:thinking about:

Any new face round the training ground will lift spirits, except of course Craig Bellamy which would do the exact opposite, but also it creates more competition for places which is what we all want. While he has the famouse skyblue on I love him to death and want him to have my children.

All these Villa fans should come to the Ricoh to watch him, we can have one end for away supporters, one end for villa supporters and the tesco stand for city fans!
