@CovTel_CCFC: City boss Mark Robins has confirmed he's interested in Sheffield Wednesday striker Gary Madine.

I personally thought he showed a lot of promise when he was first with us .I know he missed a few chances but he got himself in the right areas , looked big, strong and aggressive.Could work well in the current system we play

18 Goals in League One last season, would be back for a second spell? This can only be a good move for all parties.. Make it happen!!

As for a young PL loan player another striker perhaps or something different?

If we get Madine, I doubt well bring in a young, prem loanee, so we could have potentially 5 strikers for 1 spot, 2 for the match day squad?

I'd imagine he'd be a winger or defender.

I'd still be inclined to take a punt on the unknown prem loanee instead of Madine who would be solid enough - just think we need someone potentially a bit special to really lift us

Yeah my preference would be a defender if we drafted in a PL Loanee, although speaking to a friend of mine who supports the Owl's has said that they would be really disappointed if they allowed Madine to leave on loan.. But no arguing that we need something to get us over the finishing line..

Against previous protocol, guessing he will now join someone else now!

If we get Madine and this young prem guy, who may be say Nile Ranger...... I could see them doing alot of damage (in the bars and clubs of Coventry that is).....

Joking aside as much as I think Madine's not a bad player we do seem to have a really good team spirit at the moment and we don't need a rotten apple in our barrel.

So he's a thank you but NO for me....

Bit of a catch 22 it seems he is not good enough for the championship.

I would prefer if it happens that he only gets a year contract.

What I find strange about this is that Robins doesn't talk about players he wants to sign. Either this is a red herring or it's a done deal.

I'd like to see him back. Liked him first time round and he's a much better player now.

I thought we'd be okay for strikers till I saw how shit clarke is. gotta get someone in.

Give the man a chance!

His match fitness isn't great and he's fitting into a new system he's not used too.

Remember the same comments were aimed at McGoldrick when he first started playing for us and look how that turned out!

Let the lad get his head into our team and I'm sure he'll start hitting those goals for us!

And considering he scored 11 goals in 15 games in his previous loan spell, you can assume that he is a good player.

In the 6 games Leon has played for us he has scored 3 goals which works out as a 50% goals scored to games played ratio.

In those six games he's scored more goals than Goldie scored in his first 6 games for us I believe!

My worry is that he was good in league one, but now can't get a spot in a Championship team. Could be another Cody situation all over again. We tend to sign players on 2+ year contracts. So we could up having him for 18onths too many if (or when) we get promoted and he can't cut it in that division

We wont be promoted this season so 18 months would be about right. Saying that he would serve most of that at Her Majestys pleasure

Wasn't that ROD's exact ratio in that spell at Hartlepool?
