He has that bit of physicality we need too.

Hasn't he been in more trouble lately, or has he grown up a bit now?

Good news, I don't feel we have enough strikers in the squad.

...at least we have a plethora of tough tackling centre midfielders to tap in to

Just saying... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gary_Madine#Criminal_convictions

Criminal convictions

Madine has been convicted of several assaults. In November 2010 he was found guilty of causing actual bodily harm after attacking a man in a pub and sentenced to community service involving 250 hours of unpaid work. He was also ordered to pay £1,500 compensation to his victim and £1,800 in costs.[61] In October 2013 he was jailed for 18 months after being found guilty of causing actual bodily harm and grievous bodily harm in two separate attacks.[62] Madine was released from jail on 20 February 2014 after serving 5 months of his 18 month sentence.[63]

He'd be good in this league but we'd have 6 strikers then, experience keeper and physical midfielder should be priority.

Chief Commentator!
Maybe we should pair him up with Ched Evans and increase our striker options even further to the detriment of the midfield ;) never know they might have played in the same prison team and already have a good relationship (not suggesting anything untoward that may or may not happen in prisons........)

He knows where the back of the net is. Take that and I personally think he done a good job in the championship that time so should thrive at this level

Fully agree. If we hadn't signed Nouble this may have been a possibility. Can't see it happening.

Could they lend us a goalkeeper at the same time either Kirkland or Westwood will do.

Hasn't he been inside for assault? Not sure he's the type of person you want around with a young squad. Wouldn't you want to bring in decent role models?

So people shout out morale conduct when it suits, is this guy is better then King and the rest of them mentioned on here from time to time?

I wasn't keen on the King signing, although having got used to him being here I'll admit I wasn't happy when he was allowed to leave. Who else have we had that you're referring to? In this case it's less about his conviction and any morale outrage and more concern about having him around a young squad who may have the potential to be led astray.

We let a kid go who had a questionable personality a couple of Summers back .

He's now playing the level above ,hasn't been convicted of anything ,seems there Is little consistency .

Would assume that one of our current strikers is either going somewhere else on loan to get games, Miller? Tudgay? Perhaps McQuoid is going back to Bournemouth?

Hopefully tudgay, terrible player. I wouldn't mind madine coming in but i really like the nouble-jackson partnership so dunno if hes just going to come off the bench?

I was just making an observation from what people have said on this site.
I personally don't care if someone has done his time and changed their ways then fine.
If they continue their wrong doing that is a different matter.

After all most have us have done things we are not proud of.:(
I know I have but hey was a long time ago.

Gary Madine

Gary Madine is set to return to Coventry City on loan today as Steven Pressley looks at add more goals and physical presence to his attack.

The Telegraph understands that the 24-year-old Sheffield Wednesday striker, who had a three month spells with the Sky Blues as a raw teenager under Chris Coleman in the Championship, could complete a temporary move from Hillsborough to the Ricoh Arena with a view to being involved against Leyton Orient on Saturday.

Although Madine never scored in nine substitute appearances for City back in 2009/10, he went on to be a sensation at Wednesday where he scored 18 goals to help the Owls gain promotion from League One in 2011/12.

The troubled target man, who served five months in prison after being sentenced for 18-months last October when he was found guilty of two separate nightclub assaults, had a loan spell back at his first club Carlisle on his release when Wednesday stood by him, scoring twice in five starts for the Cumbrians.

However, he has been unable to earn a starting place in Stuart Gray’s side since where he has largely been used as a substitute, struggling to make an impact in the Championship and scoring just one goal.

But at 6ft 3 inches tall, the Gateshead-born player can hold up the ball and was prolific in League One where it appears he’s hoping to revive his flagging career with the Sky Blues.

I am still convinced that with games together Nouble and Jackson will tear League 1 defences to shreds, but this will be an excellent addition to the squad.

Hopefully we'll send the Bournemouth 3 back and then bring in a proper goalkeeper as well. Then things will be looking up.

Coventry City have completed the signing of striker Gary Madine from Championship side Sheffield Wednesday on an initial one-month loan deal.

The 24-year old has made 13 appearances for the Owls this season, scoring one goal in a 3-0 win over Notts County in the Capital One Cup.

Having started his career with Carlisle United, Madine joined the Sky Blues on loan in October 2009 and made nine appearances for City in a three-month spell at the Ricoh Arena.

During the 2011/12 season for Sheffield Wednesday, Madine scored 18 goals in League One and City manager Steven Pressley believes the striker will add quality and physicality to the squad.

Pressley said: "We're delighted to bring in a player of Gary's quality. He is a player we've been tracking for sometime and we've always been aware of the quality he has.

"We made enquiries about availability in the summer but remained very much in Sheffield Wednesday's plans at the time.

"He is a player with a proven goal-scoring record at this level and certainly brings great presence and physicality to the team."

Madine will wear shirt No. 8 during his time at Coventry City.

Good signing, sounds like he could pack a punch!

The only one of the three amigos i would consider keeping is Couilaby seeing we're back playing 4-4-2 and could do with cover on the wings.

Yeh its good to have a back up target man now. Or maybe even play them together sometimes.

I am glad that the manager has realised what a difference ohysical presence makes. Could be a very good signing.

We just need one tough tackling centre mid now and we have no excuses. I just hope that's the plan for waggot and co
