I had money on at 5/1 on a hung parliament. Put it on 08:20 on the day of the vote. I am a lifelong supporter and voter of Labour. I am a union member. I donate to the Labour party.....although nothing since Corbyn took over. I don't like the bloke. I might have still voted Labour if he had been honest about his past.
So what if I grew up in the most select areas of Coventry? Aldermoor lad until about 14. Also did the Manor Farm estate, Wood End, Willenhall, Bell Green and Spon End. Don't let my posh upbringing make you think that I am a Tory.

We have had crap leaders for ueats and still come close. What would happen with a votable leader without a dodgy past?

I think it's more the notion that everyone is going mental for Labour but they didn't actually even win.
People were looking for a reason not to vote Tory, but a lot of what got in the way of that was Corbyn. People are acting as if it was purely down to him that they did better than expected, it wasn't. The Tories really were just that shit. A better leader would have taken the Labour party and won that election.
Even for me personally I may well have voted for Labour if they had someone better in charge. I'm one of millions too.
I actually think people switched to Labour because they're sick of austerity and are seeing through the lie that we're all in it together.

I don't know anyone who voted Labour because of Corbyn. But I know several who didn't vote Labour because of Corbyn. But not one said anything until my views were clear. That is something that most Labour supporters seem to have a problem with understanding. It is a vicious circle.And it would have been even more with someone else in charge.
Only Mrs May was less in touch with the electorate.
Even the Labour MP's didn't want Corbyn. But when push comes to shove they will vote Labour. Then the manifesto offered people what they wanted.This is hilarious. When the election was called the polls had Labour being wiped out with the worst result in their history. We were told it was all down to Corbyn.
Now they've done far better than anyone expected to the point the Conservatives don't even have a majority and the narrative has changed to Labour would have won with anyone but Corbyn. That would have required one of the biggest swings to Labour in history.
And of course ignores the fact that if May had thought there was any chance of a result other than an increased Conservative majority there wouldn't have been an election.
Someone else may have persuaded you to vote for Labour but they would not have garnered the incredible support Corbyn has from the young, when I was young my political views were pretty extreme but I've changed over the years. I'm reasonably sure Corbyn has mellowed aswell and now regrets some of the views he held, its always been about the policies for me and then the leader. OMG.Someone else may have persuaded you to vote for Labour but they would not have garnered the incredible support Corbyn has from the young, when I was young my political views were pretty extreme but I've changed over the years. There was a lot of tactical voting in Scotland to beat the SNP. It didn't happen in 2015 but Labour & Conservative voters have wised up to it since. This also happened in the last elections for the MSP's where Davidson won in an SNP stronghold because alot of labour voters voted for her, Sturgeon wasn't happy about it then and I suspect she won't be now, shame eh?!That would have doubled if it wasn't for Scotland.
