presumably because there will be some sort of get together / lunch that wouldn't really be possible on a match day.
i'm sure they could squeeze in a few dozen family and friends into the 100s of empty seats up on the balcony.
and as they do food anyway on a match day, i'm sure they could have catered for them as well, even if it was an hour or 2 earlier than usual.
it just seems a shame to not have this available for as many fans as possible.

Would think 1000 or so will find the time

I was 15 and I’m 53 this year so many will have retired or partially retired possibly
Hopefully people will be able who want to
Would have been pretty hard to organise on a match day
Similar, I was 14 and 52 but it's not 'find the time'. I have limited holiday time, and already losing days for Friday at Sheff U the Monday at Hull and others this season. My only other days are a family holiday and Christmas with a spare day hopefully for Sunderland away. A weekend at the end of the season or all summer would've been better.

I’m sorry

Shame they couldn’t do this before the West Bromwich game to be honest. Would seem to be a fitting tribute on the Memorial Day to two legends who are no longer with us.

You coming?
It’s been a huge amount of work with only very recently getting planning permission from the council
The arena and the club and the committee, especially the committee have worked their socks off and it was just too difficult to do it on a day when other massive events were happening

Joe elliot has been amazing don’t know where he gets the energy from and both families have been so wonderful and are so honoured that supporters and the club got right behind it

I really hope some supporters are able to get up there it would be great for the widows and kids of the great men to see what they and the experience meant to us fans

Trying to get it off work atm. As you say it’s an amazing project and deserves people to come up.

Unfortunately I can't make it.

I bet the mad hatters will be there at the front of the crowd can't resist a photo shoot. 😎
