Massive Attack have famously always refused to play it because of the name adorned on it. This anti Colston rhetoric hasn’t just started in the last few weeks in Bristol, it’s been around for years. The hall has also had it's name changed

Its being renamed when they complete the current substantial renovation project.I guessing the Bristol colson hall was named after him.
Since the start of our transformation campaign, which we launched in September 2014, we’ve stated that we would be reviewing the name as part of our redevelopment. Our Board of Trustees unanimously made the decision that when we reopen the new building, it will be with a new name. We made the announcement in April 2017, well before the transformation began in June 2018, to make our intentions clear.
There's been campaigns going on for decades and the council have ignored all calls for the statue to be removed. They couldn't even agree what to put on an additional plaque to explain the issues. But the fact is that if enough people had lobbied the authorities to remove this statue in the ensuing weeks and the council had agreed it would have been symbolic . It would have shown willingness to acknowledge that the statute represents oppression and insults a significant section of the population .

On Sunday afternoon, a veto-proof majority of Minneapolis City Council members will announce their commitment to disbanding the city’s embattled police department, which has endured relentless criticism in the wake of the police killing of George Floyd, an unarmed Black man, on May 25.
“We are here today because George Floyd was killed by the Minneapolis Police Department. We are also here because, here in Minneapolis and in cities across the United States, it is clear that our existing system of policing and public safety isn’t working for so many of our neighbors,” Minneapolis City Council President Lisa Bender said in a written statement Sunday. “Our efforts at incremental reform have failed.”
Minneapolis City Council are announcing they are going to disband the police department. How does that work? They are saying they've tried reform in the past and it hasn't worked.
I guess they restart it but with less shit managementMinneapolis City Council are announcing they are going to disband the police department. How does that work? They are saying they've tried reform in the past and it hasn't worked.
But they have decided that the current force are too rotten to fix so it's time to start again.Even if you replace a whole police force, you'll be left with............a new police force. It's about training and building bridges regarding racism, but you're still going to get 'foul' called by a few wrong people whenever they are apprehended. Change needed, but you're never going to get rid of confrontation when the police are called to arrest people, just hopefully less outright thuggery (though you see incidents of people attacking paramedics, firefighters, so it's a thankless task at times)
Err no. The prophet didn't make a fortune in dealing them and is responsible for the death of 19000 of them. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) dealt in and owned slaves.
Presumably this mob in Bristol will be off to demolish a few mosques next, according to their infallible logic.
Don’t mosques famously have no images of Muhammad? What are they going to vandalise exactly? The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) dealt in and owned slaves.

What is this piece of shit talking about?
Not really a fan of these, you could post a picture of anyone, claiming they did anything and it can snowball. Although of course if it was this guy he's a pure c**t.If any witchhunt SHARE THIS PHOTO is a load of bollocks I really hope it's this one
Plenty of traditional Labour voters also voted Brexit. As uncomfortable as it makes you I'm sure there are a good amount of people out there that would like to hear from both Starmer and Farage. Not sure I’m a fan of Kier Starmer going on LBC and pandering to nutters. I also don’t think as Labour leader should share a platform of with Nigel ‘I got some hard truths for you black people to hear’ Farage.
Maybe it’s just me...

This is what I'm saying. Probably created by someone in Sunderland for a laugh.I don't think I've seen one yet where they get the person right. People in Sunderland currently swearing on the validity here

Fake news, it wasn't a brick. It was toys out of the pram I believe.

Ha I was actually gonna say its seems unlikely this guy could launch a brick but thought it unfair to go in on the looks of someone who's possibly done nothing. He doesn't look as if he could lift a brick.
If he did do it, city fan or not then I hope he is on the receiving end of a bit of off the record brutality. Make him stand and get kicked by a horse.

Yes. You can't go around deplatforming people because you don't like what they say. Where would it end?Im not linking this to Brexit to be fair. In the context of the protests, do you really think Farage deserves a platform with his racist rhetoric?
It’s not about de-platforming. I agree that LBC listeners that voted for Brexit would want to hear from Starmer if nothing more than to reassure them he doesn’t want to row back on it and how Labour will respond in a post Brexit society.Yes. My issue is that Farage is a flat out racist. It’s not about ‘uncomfortable hearing, it’s about the fact the guy is a liar and a bigot. It perfectly fine to say you don’t want to share a platform with him.
If they've done it then fuck 'em but if they haven't then circulating their photo and making a false accusation should be an offence in itself.
