I can see why the police wouldn't want to antagonise them otherwise they risk another riot, damaged cars & have the thing escalate out of control all over the place, better to have them all in the same place doing their thing without wrecking everything- were the police filming or anything? Hopefully it ends when police take concrete steps to work on the institutional racism that got us here in the first place. Whatever you think about Minneapolis disbanding their police there is no chance it would have happened without people saying enough is enough and causing some disruption.

Surely the police or cameras should fine every car owner that shows that the cars are effectively abandoned. Any innocent people caught up in this would stay with their vehicles. Anyone parking on the hard shoulder and then deliberately causing a blockage should be picked up quite easily.
Its a smart motorway. Cameras are everywhere.
You can also oppose it without walking down a motorway filming yourself for likes on social media.

There's a point where it becomes lawless and gets silly and people just join in to cause trouble rather than the actual point. People jump on because they can get out of lockdown and have a day out and get away with it.
