I know I am probably in the minority that it doesn't bother by me, people moaning for moaning sake. I don't go as I'm not a music or 'festival' fan but it's a good thing for the City!

Same sort of people that move by an airport & complain about plane noise or by a sports stadium and moan about floodlights.

Yup!

It's ridiculous that the council have to bow down to a few moaning ninnies, but unfortunately that is always the case. Lots of well to do people down that neck of the woods who would shudder at the mere thought of a rock and pop festival.

Of course Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture with all the canons blasting would be entirely fine I'm sure.

Half the problem
Snobbery....

Think they had to agree to a strict curfew though, cause local residents were complaining about the 'thump, thump, thump and their windows rattling!'

Best solution is to have bands come on earlier, 8.45 instead of 9.15. then bands can do extra encores if they want.

If that's what happened its piss poor stage management. If you have a strict curfew you should schedule the headline act to finish a minimum of 15 mins before the curfew to allow for any overrun. Its down to the stage manager to make sure all the acts are on and off at the correct time.

Wonder if they contracted in or tried to run it themselves?

Spector were class as always. Same with The Wombats. Will certainly be looking out Don Braco's gigs. Pulled apart by horses were a bit different. Imagine Deep Purple, Led Zep and the Scorpions all playing their songs at the same time in a telephone box and you'll have an idea of what they're about.

Another great day, the on,y think the council do right at the moment! It's a great event and lucky with the weather.

the only criticism was trying to get out of the car park at the end but I can live with that

Quite funny, cause one of my daughter's mum's was quite shocked on Friday night.

She misread it as the Fine Young Cannibals playing, not the Fun Lovin Criminals, so all the MF's didn't go down too well at all.

Your daughter has multiple mums?

Really didn't hear much music. Some Latvian band and Spector. Mainly went to see Pulled Apart By Horses who were brilliant.

Had a good day yesterday. Enjoyed Spector, Carnival Youth and The Wombats were great. Always think it helps when you know the songs though, as I did with the latter.

Going again today and looking forward to Embrace (again because I'll know some of their songs :D)

Watched Dreadzone in the rhythm tent, first time I've seen them, what a great band.

Just seen on the CET poll, would people pay £2 to get in to the festival?

Personally i would say yes, i am happy to pay even £10 for a weekend pass to get in (and kids go free) if it meant that the festival can continue. Its something that the city does very well, its organised well and it needs to continue.

They could probably get a good chunk of the cost (believe it costs the council around £400K) through sponsorship. With the number of people who turn up that has to be worth a few quid.

I would pay £10, no problem at all, especially if it was a weekend pass for all 2 and half days. We go anyway, even if I hate all the bands on, which of course has never, ever happened, as there is always something for someone. There's just so much to do there and we never get to see everything going on and half the time, very rarely make it to the other field.

I have no problem with them sponsoring it if they keep it going. Free day at the Benson & Hedges festival? Sure!

Would have fitted in perfectly with the Fun Lovin Criminals on Friday night singing 'Smoke em, smoke em, smoke em if you got em, if you ain't got em you've hit rock bottom.'

Could be B&H's new motto.
