Don’t play as much these days since having our first child 18 months ago, and I have been wondering recently if I’ve been losing the bug - I had been utterly obsessed for the last 5 or so years.

I play off 4 these days. Got down to 1.8 before my daughter came along.
What's your local course?

Horribly inconsistent when I played regularly - scores ranged between 84 and 137 (last one was particularly painful/hilarious). Haven’t played properly in a couple of years, but did 9 holes at Nuneaton in the spring and carded what I think was a 44.

I do want to get back playing but have a lot of other commitments so golf’s kinda fallen by the wayside.

Nope, miles from it!

Well I suppose I could technically become a PGA Pro with that level of scoring, but when I think of 'pro' I think of guys who compete, and their handicaps (if they had one, pros don't have handicaps) would be like +6 or +7, which is just obscene - that's 7 or 8 shots better than me, the same difference between me and a 10 handicap.

Yes, just to put it in perspective, Andy Sullivan went round Nuneaton in 59 a few years back.

If Joe Bloggs can go round in less than 100-that’s a good round right? Never been near that though 😩
Need to get the clubs out again-haven’t been for a few years.

Front 9 yeah? :)
Don’t forget, you also need to have a full repertoire of golf jokes to hand. Could need them at any moment.

When I was young I wasn’t very good. But I was determined. I practiced for hours and hours every week for years and years.
Now I’m old.

Dusted the clubs off for the first time since 2023 and got back on it. Played nine or ten rounds since May. Thought I’d made some improvement on the weekend but went tonight and was awful. Ashamed to say I chucked my driver after putting two out of bounds off the tee in a row but thankfully there was nobody around. Enjoying though so will be keeping it up until the weather turns.
