Just what’s the point.

Anyone else have it? What do you do when you have an episode?

Have to take naproxen lots but it makes me drowsy and in severe pain for a while first.

Yours pissed off

You sit in a chair with your foot on a stool, smoking your pipe whilst listening to your 78’s on your gramophone surely? ;)

I’m sure my mate says it really helps him aswell...but he is a Baggies fan and says that’s really good .... so may not be reliable

I treid Cherry Juice but it made it worse. Best thing to do is work out the trigger and either cut it out or reduce it in your diet. Then keeps some naproxen spare in case of a flare up. My problem is home baking and pastry so I've cut it down. If i get a flare up I only need a couple of naproxen and it clears up now.
Doctor did put me on allopurinol permanently but wasnt any good.
Good luck with it. I wouldnt wish it on my worst enemy.

On allopurinol and don’t have flare ups unless I run too much

It could be that its affected the bone in your toe and so running is aggravating it. My right big toe knuckle is now bigger than my left one which I think is down to gout. I still manage to pay sport and do plenty of cycling with it though. Do you know what food causes it? if so try and cut it out and it might help a bit.

Had it for 30 years. Excruciating pain. I take 300mg of Allopurinol every day and Arcoxia and Zapain when it gets really bad. My triggers are real ale and chocolate so l avoid both.

I had gout for a short time about 12 years ago. It was the most excruciating pain I've ever felt. Sorry Pete, but I can't remember what it was that cleared it up, but thankfully, it only lasted about a month.
