Crewe are a friendly club with a poor stadium. Having one large stand then 3 tiny stands just makes the stadium look strange and adds to the lack of atmosphere. I was in the Cewe main stand there was very little atmosphere behind their goal a few of their fans tried to sing but it was dead.

I was sitting a few seats in front of Timmy, he does not look well and was walking with a limp.

Also they watered the pitch today before the game why ?. Players were constantly slipping ours more than theirs, I think the ref slipped twice. The pitch was very heavy and ensured with the additional water the game would be a turgid battle.

Was it as Gresty Road where someone went onto the pitch and had a go at Magnus or was it Preston?

Well talking of doctoring the pitch, I remember a game at the start of a season at Selhurst Park where the grass was so long it was weird. Apparently that was done deliberately because the home teams were used to playing on it and it supposedly gave them an advantage.

preston, that lad played in my sunday league team, quite out of character for him I presume he was loaded with drink at the time.

Knew it was one of the two, just like Arsenal the stewards took an age to get to him.

Also another benefit of travelling to games with small crowds got to Crewe just after 2.00 parked for free on Gresty road itself about 200 yards from the ground. With little or no football traffic was on the M6 by 5.30 and home in Costa del Cov by 6.45. I now know how the sixfielders feel to regularly go to badly attended games with poor home fans atmospheres bt be quick onto the motorway.

Sorry it was a cheap dig. Crewe are quite a high profile club for such a small town. Admired what they have done producing youth talent, if we had come to Crewe 20 years ago when in the Prem it would have been sold out as a potential cup shock, recognise where we are currently but we just don't belong in this league.
