Grimes Sheaf Rudoni (3 Viewers)

Would be tempted to bring in his succession plan (whoever that may be) to become 4th choice with a view to displacing him during the season. Eccles makes way for me.

Allen for me I think. Get a dynamic physical number 8 in.

Kypriannou would be a good fit as he is free - we’d have:

Grimes - Allen
Sheaf - Kyp
Rudoni- Torp

Maybe keep Andrews around as 7th midfielder as Sheaf/Torp/Allen/Rudoni have all had injuries this season

12 months ago Sheaf had outgrown us, we weren't able to take the next step that would match his logical career path.

The last year hasnt been kind to him (though he can still be crucial) and the club has progressed whilst his stock has devalued.

If I were him I'd be chomping at the bit for a full season alongside Rudoni and Grimes and I think he will extend. It just makes sense for everyone.

Sheaf will stay/renew his contract imo. He’s had a challenging year so any serious Prem interest has presumably gone so his best option is to help us get promoted this/next season.
His future is a tricky decision both from his own and the club's point of view, at the moment he needs to deliver in order to secure a good contract for the next 3 years or so but the club also has to be wary of his injury record if he is given an improved and extended contract. It could go either way.

If it was down to Lampard alone, I’d imagine he’d be here and be captain next season.

Think I’d keep Eccles over Allen, really should replace both tho if money were no object.

I mean, if money were no object we’d replace them all…get your point though.
It’ll be interesting to see what Andrews does next season, a fair bit of hype around him but I wonder if we’ve been here before eg Ryan Howley.

Maybe it does for those who in this case are uneducated
actually if you studied enough you would realise the uneducated view is that language is set in stone

english has changed throughout history, back through the great vowel switch, through the norman invasion and through the viking immigration

english in 250 years will look very different to what it is now

sorry mandem

I just think we need slightly different profile players to what we have in Allen Eccles and Torp. I like Torp, but he’s not quite the back up Rudoni you want, if anything Sheaf is the backup Grimes and then you want some dynamism and energy in there that Eccles/Allen is probably the closest to but not quite the level for a top four side if that’s where we are aiming.

The one and only word that is mis-pronounced/used wrong that really grips my shit, is when people say arks instead of ask.
Oh, actually, another, when people say Birminum instead of Birmingham! And I'm not even from Birminum so that shouldn't even wind me up.... but it does! There you go

Arks is interestingly historically correct, the old English for "to ask" was acsian. If you look at how Chaucer he uses "Ax" instead of Ask which is taken from acsian as well.

Language does indeed move on, and I am ok with that.

But people who say 'literally' when they mean 'figuratively' can fuck off, keep fucking off, and then fuck off some more.

The knowledge of this forum is unrivalled. Is there a way we could enter University Challenge?
If you want to learn more about words and their histories this is a really good youtube channel

the male presenter of that channel also has his own really good channel as well

I'll still be surprised if Sheaf is here next year.

5th choice midfielder at best 😂😂😂
he's an interesting one that fella

Is it just be or in the last game did sheaf do more of the defensive and deep lying work which allow Grimes at time to be more advanced? Grimes is still the primary deep lying midfielder but they did start to swap it up a bit

Interesting one, not long ago I'd have agreed but not sure. Don't think he gets a better club than us atm and Frank might fancy himself to get the best from him. 1 year extension may suit?

That's based om my opinion and nothing else though I'm trying to find out.

I think sheaf must have still had a niggle for the first few games he and Grimes played together. They seem more of a "fit" now. Grimes has also been more dynamic the last few games.

A good pairing.
Was always gonna take a few games for sheaf to adapt to the role lampard is asking if him

They have swapped roles a few times but sheaf is progressing forwards more now. He's very good at turning on the ball when recieving it

Need to keep the 3 midfielders fit now till end of season.

Allens and Eccles used for rotation or when impact needed but this is the main 3 now

I think he may stay with us, his stock is a lot lower than last year so he may want a good fully fit season to make him more attractive to better clubs.

If he's focused, fit and firing he's a massive assett, unfortunately that's not always the case but fingers crossed.

Hopefully he see's the benefit of knuckling down and working hard with one of England's best ever midfielders.
