I doubt we have much in the way of funds to improve the squad in the summer without sales and Sheaf is a logical one to move on.

Fingers crossed? You were personally insulting him and saying you want him gone 4 weeks ago

And don't just reply saying I'm trolling.

He hadn’t contributed at all during the season. He also said he wanted out in an interview. He can’t just be given a free pass as he’s had one good game

Interesting one, not long ago I'd have agreed but not sure. Don't think he gets a better club than us atm and Frank might fancy himself to get the best from him. 1 year extension may suit?

He’s apparently got a year option so might not be a rush to decide if he doesn’t force it.

Were Bidwell and Sakamoto’s contracts extended because they hit appearance totals then?

Yeah that’s what I mean. They’re not reported as a plus one and just seem to get extended when targets are hit.

Bidwell’s new deal was a two year extension - that seems like quite a chunky option (bit like Bidwell lolol)

Just going off what Saddle said about those two. TBH I suspect contracts are entirely separate from the playing side and seen like an investment looking at them. The strategy seems to be keep everyone with a couple of years even if you want rid of them.

Yeh Saddle suggested Eccles too. Suddenly the Bidwell one made a lot more sense after hearing that. Don't think Eccles and Sakamoto being extended was a bad thing though.

It's not a free pass to say don't get personal about a player being injured . I have no issue with anyone saying he ain't had a great season cos he hasn't.

If wright doesn't score till end of season is it ok to call his mum a whore maybe?

Just wondering what the rules are here on free passes.

Language changes. Do you walk around doffing your hat calling things splendid? Get over yourself.
Splendiforous is a superior superlative.

I'm asking where the personal insults are ok and where they are not. So mums are off limit. But anything about the player is fair game?

Just trying to understand

There isn’t much to understand

He’s had a poor season and hasn’t lived up to his billing. Same as Simms.

It would have to be a pretty odd number of games for Sakamoto - he’s played 69 league games. Lampard has said he likes him.

Bidwell can’t be after nearly 4 years at the club

english in 250 years will look very different to what it is now

We're not just going to lose our English language we're going to lose our identity.

Are the English people of this country just gonna let it happen. 🤔

Fuck off and take that shite elsewhere.

Also no one is losing English as a language, it just evolves. It's the reason we dont fucking speak like we are doing a reading of Beowulf.

His future is a tricky decision both from his own and the club's point of view, at the moment he needs to deliver in order to secure a good contract for the next 3 years or so but the club also has to be wary of his injury record if he is given an improved and extended contract. It could go either way.

For the club, it’s arguably a blessing in disguise. If we were going to sign a player of his calibre we’d be spending £5+ million and need corresponding wages to reflect that quality.

Sheaf signed his last contract in 22/23 so his wages won’t be massive.

From both club and Sheaf individually, his value has dropped so selling an asset at a reduced value is not sensible for either party. Teams like Palace or whoever was supposedly interested would have been and gone. In any case, unless I’ve missed something, the only ‘Prem’ where there was material interest was Luton, a team we could end up relegating to L1 next weekend.

What a thread 😂. Using the word filth makes you uneducated and sheafs mom is a whore were my personal highlights. Never change SBT.
I was out all day yesterday and not in a position to write much. But the idea that a stranger came on a football forum to pick me up on my use of slang was too funny for me at times.

I think Sheaf will still be here next season, he has lost value and how many clubs will pay £4-5m for someone who has been injured as much as he has recently. His injuries this season could turn out to be a very good thing for us, looking ahead to next season. Him, Grimes and Rudoni would be one of the best midfields in Championship if we dont get promoted this season

if his value is 4 to 5m then quite a few will take him, we'd ideally want him to have a good season so his value is bac up to where we had it before
