Clubs had players who had agreed to sign before the window opened though hadn't they.

I remember a number of posts on here about clubs snapping up our targets.

Yes but the signing is finalised at the start of the transfer window and he will then join up with the squad unless on a free

We will see on saturday won't we we are usually fast starters bar last season so that bodes well for this year but every team has new players that need to gel that is the point I am making and you seem to think that that will only effect us

Hell, you all know we'll finish 7th & just miss out on the play offs - our League 1 life will be the same as our Championship life - same optimism when we first came down from the Prem too!

What's wrong with goin into to the season with some optimism I mean have you even looked at some of the teams squads frankly they're terrible, some are good but we have one of the best squads in the league. also how is he married to me he doesn't just agree with everything I say like stupot while he's rimming otis

Are you married to Fry?

Yh we are married, what of it. Seriously though only swindon, donny and Sheffield utd will offer real competition. The likes of Mk dons and Preston may be dangerous but take a look at their squads, players that have never made it in the league above. There is no point discussing this anymore because for some reason people think the teams in league 1 are the greatest ever to play the game. One little fact aswell for you Michael Doyle has been part of one team that got promoted from lge 1 and one that made the play offs in lge 1

You need to take off your rose-tinted Championship spec off then don't you! ;)

This is League One and this is what we are now, a League One club. instead of Leshtur and Brum and West Ham being challenging games for us, we now have to face up to the fact that we could well be underdogs when playing MK Dons or Bournemouth or Sheff Utd or Notts County away.

Time to wake up and smell the extra strength premium coffee!

Do posters on here still think we are not underdogs in quite a number of games in this league?

Got slated when I posted the above way back when.

Surely we were underdogs tonight at Brentford as we were at Swindon and Tranmere and will be at MK Dons and Sheff Utd. and Notts County etc. etc. etc.

One thing we have to all accept is that we are a League One club. We are not a big fish in a small pond, we are just another fish.

We really do need to take that onboard and tonight we were quite clearly underdogs with Brentford's excellent home record.

Once we get that into our system maybe we can finally compete at this level.

I feel the need to disagree with you one point...we ARE a big fish - but we're in a frigging small puddle = flapping about & gasping but to no avail.

Some people looking a bit stupid on this thread, not least of all you Otis with your ridiculuosly over-optimistic 14th position prediction! ;)

Didn't get to that bit yet.

I just believe that it still doesn't seem to have sunk in yet with some posters that we are a League One club and a League One club in pretty much all aspects.

We are not a big fish, we will be underdogs in certain games and we will be beaten quite regularly.

All the nonsense of us going through the entire season unbeaten at home etc. has been blown apart. Just think we need to accept who we now are and where we now are before we can move on. We need to get rid of all this expectancy and treat every game in this division as a hard game and a lot of them against very tough opponents, instead of looking at the fixture list and saying it's Notts County at home, we should be beating them.

Some stupid posts last night calling for Robins' head. It's time to accept our lot and give the bloke a chance and time to build.

We are certainly not getting out of this division this season.

Actually, I wouldn't bank on that
