The one glimmer of hope in relation to Gyok is the fact that he's already been at a PL club and suffered from not playing. I get the feeling he felt that he should have been given more of a chance there, especially when you can see Neal Maupay getting a game! I think he likes being the main man here. His own words have suggested similar.
Problem is imo we have to try and replace with a similar type of player , physical lone striker that can carry the ball ..where the fook we get one from who knows
I think what most teams with vision do would be spend the money you'd receive for Vik on 3 or 4 players, making the team better overall. With us though, especially with our ownership situation up in the air, you know we're unlikely to see that money again.Problem is imo we have to try and replace with a similar type of player , physical lone striker that can carry the ball ..where the fook we get one from who knows
I think this is right. The difference in the quality of defenders is massive, and great though he has been this season it's not clear he would be able to succeed in the Premier league. He has been largely nullified in the last two matches by strong defences, but those in the Premier league are far stronger. If he carries on as he is he may well get there but I think he knows he isn't ready yet.He knows how good you have to be to play at that level and whether he's ready just yet.
I don't think there are any. We would have to get the best we can and adapt how we play.Problem is imo we have to try and replace with a similar type of player , physical lone striker that can carry the ball ..where the fook we get one from who knows
Yeah can't replace like for like, just have to make the team good enough we don't have to!I think what most teams with vision do would be spend the money you'd receive for Vik on 3 or 4 players, making the team better overall. I know him *l* G*rn*t*getGot a mate from London who races pigeons, pretty reliable bloke and rather fast too.
Simms has a better minutes per goals this season than Gyokeres.
We're not going to get a replacement anywhere near as good as Gyokeres obviously, but Simms could be a decent option
I was impressed with him at Blackpool, caught some of their play off games on TV when they got promoted and thought he'd be a decent option for us.Simms has a better minutes per goals this season than Gyokeres.

I wonder whether we might look at Ike Ugbo again when the time comes. Hasn't set the world alight abroad but has the usual ex Chelsea link.A couple of players at League 1 that stand out to me that can potentially fill in Gyok’s gap somewhat nowhere near as good but we won’t get anyone just as good
Ryan Hardie (Plymouth)
Aaron Collins (Brizzle Rovers)
Victor Adeboyejo (Burton)
Then looking further out afield we have the likes of
Danilo (Feyenoord)
Shankland (hearts)
Miovski (aberdeen)
Maja (Bordeaux)
To be honest Im just praying we dont lose Vik and our Recruitment team are much better than I am and find a suitable replacement when we do lose him.
Gyok is without doubt a very difficult forward to defend against, especially one on one, but it's pretty easy to predict what he'll do - drift over to the left hand side and try and take the defender on and shoot.
Just seen this video uploaded 2 days ago.
What a player he is. Must be the most unique footballer I've ever seen at Coventry. So powerful and so difficult to get the ball off him. So gangly but feet like Messi.
I think Vik is a lot quicker than Viduka was, and works a lot harder too. Viduka though was a better finisher. Vik would have to change his game in the prem.Had a couple of mates who support Leeds ask me about Gyok over the last week or so. Apparently their rumor mills are linking him.
They always ask me who he plays like, kind of haves me stumped?
Of course I'll tell them he is like a shite Enoch Showunmi and they should look elsewhere
Best I could think is: imagine if Mark Viduka played less central and drifted from out wide. He is a bit more dribbly but is powerful and has an unusual style where it's not always clear he is in 100% control.
Might be off but I struggle to think of any direct comparisons

£25m + SurridgeForest now being linked… they could pay silly money for a player that at times does avoid passing at all costs. I’d trust Robins to replace wisely if we got a huge chunk of filthy Greek cash
The new one thats been instatedWhat recruitment team buddy?

Make that 25m + Surridge on a 2yr loan with them covering his wages and I'm in£25m + Surridge
You drive a hard bargain - but that might be possibleMake that 25m + Surridge on a 2yr loan with them covering his wages and I'm in
I agreeYou drive a hard bargain - but that might be possible
It is hard to compare his style with anyone else, as he is a bit of a unique player. The best comparison I make in my head, and I'm curious to hear what people think as I've never told anyone before, is that he's like a poor man's Drogba... he isn't as intelligent or good at finishing as Drogba, but in terms of his pace, strength, power, and ability to play the lone striker role so effectively in a team that isn't exactly brimming with attacking talent, he's the only other person I can think of.Had a couple of mates who support Leeds ask me about Gyok over the last week or so. Vik, love him as I do, rarely (if ever) plays a pass when he's anywhere near the box. Reminds me of Huckerby in a way, totally unique, gets the ball and drives at goal. His link up play, and heading from crosses is almost non-existent, and generally you would expect that to be half decent with a lone front man.I think Vik is a lot quicker than Viduka was, and works a lot harder too. Viduka though was a better finisher. Vik would have to change his game in the prem.
similar value do you reckon?Reminds me of Nunez with the combination of unpredictability and power.
