With Prem deals happening and clubs picking up large wedges it’d be a bit, well.. how should I put this?
Fuckingdumbasstastic not to wait another few days for potentially another £3m
Edit to add: Unless Sporting are paying all 17m upfront and we get a fatfucking sell-on clause. Then I’ll book him the Easyjet myself
'Us' ?Normally a club already knows if a player is interested before they make a bid.
When Man City bid for Grealish, plenty of Villa fans were stunned when the move happened: they shouldn’t have been surprised. Man City knew Grealish wanted the move well in advance.
There has been interest in Gyokeres but to date, it doesn’t appear that a PL club has lodged a formal bid. It is therefore possible that those clubs know that Gyokeres only wants a move to Lisbon.
Or just possible that WHUFC are waiting to sell Rice before they bid.
Frustrating for us

I appreciate it’s still possible for the Sky Blues to be forced to accept £17 million for Gyokeres from Lisbon, instead say £20 million from WHUFC, if Gyokeres insists on a move to Portugal. But West Ham can offer Euro football and higher wages. Anything to give Robins extra spending power
Also this will be wrapped up in the next few weeks. He won’t want to be coming back from pre-season with us.
Doesn’t pre-season start this coming Saturday, 1st July?

Sadly not. If Gyokeres says yes to Lisbon, the club might have to accept the lesser offer.Ultimately we decided which offer is acceptable to the club. If West Ham offer more but SL is where Vik wants to go, then they will need to up their offer.
Dublin had it written into his contract that any offer over a certain amount gave him the right to talk about a move. They offered £1 over the amount.Sadly not. If Gyokeres says yes to Lisbon, the club might have to accept the lesser offer.
There are precedents. As discussed the other day, Cov were forced to accept a lower offer for Dion Dublin from Villa, instead of the much higher offer from Blackburn.
Even back then, players had power. That power is arguably stronger now but ultimately, you can’t always force a player to sign for someone

Nowhere near the same, Dublin signed a new contract and was almost immediately offered to Blackburn by our spurious and useless chairman Bryan Richardson for about £7million but Richardson missed or didn’t know that inserted in Dublins contract was any club who offered over £5million could talk to Dublin and crafty Villa offered £5mill+ a pound and got their man.Sadly not. If Gyokeres says yes to Lisbon, the club might have to accept the lesser offer.

Richardson should have resigned over that.
I think we did it with Lee Hughes as well.Didn’t Arsenal do the same with Suarez? Just £1 more?! But that’s £40 mil or so I think?

Richardson’s ambitions over plain common sense ruined this club. Arena 2000, selling Highfield Road, Ron Atkinson, Gordon Stracham. Paying hefty transfer fees for average players (Daish, Jess, Salako, Richardson).Nowhere near the same, Dublin signed a new contract and was almost immediately offered to Blackburn by our spurious and useless chairman Bryan Richardson for about £7million but Richardson missed or didn’t know that inserted in Dublins contract was any club who offered over £5million could talk to Dublin and crafty Villa offered £5mill+ a pound and got their man.

How?
If we’ve accepted a bid from West Ham not sporting why would he then move to sporting?
Why would they? It's CCFC that would be getting squeezed in that scenario.Ultimately we decided which offer is acceptable to the club. If West Ham offer more but SL is where Vik wants to go, then they will need to up their offer.

I liked us more under Phil Neal.
Add to that Richardson failed to keep Keane, Dublin, McCalister and Huckerby at the club..

Gyokeres is selfish? The sooner Gyokeres fucks off the better. I know Gyokeres is selfish and the world revolves around him but thinking him and his agent can dictate the fee is utter narcissism.

In which case any player that wants a move can rightly choose his new club, the wages offered to him (Likely to be higher due to the reduced fees) etc. it just means that the club gained in signing the player, used his service and then abided by the contract that was agreed between the two parties.
The majority of us are aligned to your view. It’s daft for ’New Posters’ ahem to suggest that Gyokeres is over priced, their motives are at least questionable. The price will reflect the best deal possible in a given moment. At the moment City and Gyokeres negotiators are doing their jobs. Both parties have common ground in that they need a deal to be done (contracted to us, but winding down).Gyokeres is selfish?
He has a contract with us. He has always given 100%. But he is free to turn down any offers given to him. He can't be forced to join a club he doesn't want to go to. He can't be forced to play in a country he doesn't want to live in. If it is us trying to sell him it is us trying to break the contract.
Could you imagine if it was you being told by your employer they want you to leave and work for a certain company and you have no choice on the matter? Would you be happy?
This place is crazy. How can someone go from hero to zero for being truthful? He isn't being greedy. He would most probably earn more staying in England. He seems to have a preference that isn't in England. And many on here have stated the same that he isn't worth 20m or more.
Yes we need to maximise what we can get for him. But he also needs to be happy with the move.
Nothing dishonorable about Dublin moving to villa in that case. Regrets from city about any release clause…maybe? But fair value for the player, given than city agreed it!
But somehow it was missed by that clown Richardson and probably cost the club 2million quid, big money in those days.He also signed a new deal rather than leave for free and the contract clause was inserted because of that

Dublin did nothing wrong to be fair.
