How familiar were you with the signings we've made so far? Not meant as a jab as I'd not heard of Van Ewijk and Sakamoto before we were linked with them and they both come highly rated, if we're bidding a decent amount for this player I'd assume the scouts have had a proper look at him and he's got an impressive record to boot
Tbh the way we're going it's all a bit of a stab in the dark. We've no idea how they'll settle and adapt into this division even if we've heard of them!

Maybe dragus was also in the plans as well as this guy , can't see us going from 1 extreme to the other, maybe we wanted both . Vente I believe now was never a thing
I think that would be the logical conclusion and as Brighton said above, this one has been in the works a while.

Whether this happens or not I think the fact this is so unlike the past god knows how many years that I find it all really unsettling! Gutted to be missing the first 3 games of the season as it's going to be really interesting seeing how we shape up, who plays where etc.

I’m gonna have to erase the internet from my life somehow.

“Gutted we’re not getting McNally back”, after signing 3 CB’s.

“Gutted Dragus isn’t coming”. After watching a short reel of highlights, and not knowing of his existence prior to the rumour.

“Absolutely buzzing, Haji Wright!” Same as above.

It really looks like people are happy to sign anyone because unusually we’re spending a lot of money on them. I feel if I start being sick, I won’t stop.
Agreed, the fact that we were shite against Exeter doesn't matter as it was a "friendly,"

But those that are ignoring the shite performance would be proclaiming automatic promotion if we'd of won 4 or 5 nill.

Let’s be honest hardly any of us had heard of this fella, IF and I have put a big if it’s confirmed he is signed it will be on the back of plenty of scrutiny, study etc, we have a proper scouting system now the scout we nicked off Leicester was their foreign scout.
I have plenty of confidence in our manager to get it right or even Wright and when they go for players they improve our squad and have potential to improve themselves.

I can see Robins signing him but I think the reported price will be well wide of the mark. I don't know how accurate transfer market is but they have him at 6 million euros and if the selling club needs the cash as reported it could be a lot lower.

Except for when you bag loads of goals, in which case we're going to piss the league.

You can't have it both ways, they either matter or they don't.

It's always the same on here, the same people getting a hard on over Wright were jerking off over Walker and waghorn last year.

My head cannot accept for one second we might be spending that kind of money on a transfer.

It just feels like a massive risk if he doesn't succeed.

As much as I'm enjoying us basically putting in a football manager cheat code, does anyone else feel like this is a high risk strategy? What if this crop of players do not settle well etc...

Yes, but you could argue that any transfer is a risk, from here or abroad. Same could happen with players from Scotland, Ireland, heck we had that young lad from Swansea that lasted one training session.

And when they get here, we find they can't cope with our style of play. It's a risk but you make decisions on what you know and the rest is chance.

I hope your right, if he can get a partnership going with Simms we'd have a very formidable and powerful attack, but if it doesn't work out its a very expensive mistake. (If the fee quoted is correct)

On paper he certainly looks ready for a challenge in the championship, and he looks like he has some pace and power, in the Vik style.

Looks class in the air. Bout time we got someone who was able to get on the end of crosses which we seemed to put in the box last year even if Allen was the only person in there.

I do. Plus is this guy really worth that? I get that he has probably improved a lot since then, but 0/22 in Holland isn't great.
