After today's game he is miles ahead now in the xG stakes, 0.71 per 90, the next highest are Szmodics and Ugbo at 0.47 each. Interestingly Whittaker at Plymouth has scored at the same rate as Wright, but from a much lower xG (0.26). Will be interesting to watch on Tuesday

So it's official.

We have the worst finisher in the league.

To rub salt into the wound we paid 8M for this 26 year old.

Lazy? This guy's an athlete. You don't get in shape like that being lazy.

.He's tall so he looks lean and he probably goes to the gym a fair bit . On the pitch he doesn't look at all committed to me. Runs a bit. Gives up easily. Can't jump.
Attitude in the gym doesn't mean you bust a gut out on the pitch.

Whittaker is scoring at about double his xG so far...
I think Whittaker is miles better than Wright. Scored a very good long range goal yesterday and looks much more accomplished. Would have cost us less and probably gotten us more points/wins by now. Sigh

Look back at our highlights. He’s hugely involved. Once one goes in he’ll go on a spree. Millwall didn’t know what to do with him yesterday - he had a massive influence on us winning.
He’s an enigma. What credit do we give him for getting into space 3 times for chances with only the keeper to beat? None of our other strikers have found those opportunities. And in each of those chances he hit the target. The chance that led to Godden’s goal was a good save by the keeper. The first chance was a decent shot and a decent save, where he should have done much better was the third chance in the second half. He had half the goal to aim at and hit it direct at the keeper. There were some real frustrations yesterday, poor passes which should easily have found a team mate, and some poor control. Is this just a lack of focus/concentration? Or something more fundamental?

One other point, although there were individual shouts of frustration yesterday, the fans were mostly right behind him, with the Haji Wright Wright Wright song sang regularly. Very much worth keeping faith with him now, we’ve got a big investment in him.

You have to admit the first two were decent shots that the keeper was fairly lucky to keep out. Last shot was a bit more at him. I thought he was unlucky yesterday. What I did see was him creating his own chances with good positioning and pace it's not like he's had it served on a platter and scuffed it over the bar.
