so we accept 50% less than his real value. Utter madness
His real value is whatever someone is prepared to pay. Its either that or nothing next summer. Madness would be keeping him around thinking we're billy big bollocks that can do without millions of pounds all of a sudden.

This is total rubbish, his value is different to different people. Same as a family heirloom would have a different value to you than it would have to someone outside your family.
His tangible value is what someone is willing to pay for him of course.

i get your point certainly but for 6m you are better off keeping the best midfielder in the league or one of who is on a modest contract compared to others and go for top 6.
He cost us 1.4m and had 3 good seasons and would be 4 seasons for a bargain.

Unfortunately we don’t have the money to turn our noses up at 6m.

seems we have so far although admittedly I don’t know what these rejected bids were but I can’t see the club selling less than 10m with DK in charge.
Probably why robins said we might just run down the contract. There will be a cut off point and I would think that’s 10m. Is in my book anyway

What are you on about. He’s a footballer not a Chinese vase

6 million is just a figure I plucked but considering we just got a player like MVE for 4ish I think we'd be bonkers to turn it down if it was the only show in town. Good chance we probably already have a replacement lined up but for that to happen we need him just go if that's what he really wants.

It’s becoming clearer it’s about money not family stuff. Our wage structure can’t get anywhere near what he wants. Other Champ clubs let alone Premiership offering double what we can.

King will do the right thing just like with Vik and drive a hard deal with any clubs. Sell Hamer now and reinvest in his position this August and then a healthy amount left over in the kitty for Robins to use next summer. We won’t need to sell anyone in that case unless they want to leave.
Robins won't be here if we perform like yesterday.

They're saying Al-Hilal made an offer of €300 million for Mbappe, but obviously no one else would pay that. Does that mean he's worth 300 mil?

which has nothing to do with this conversation

Weird way to admit you're wrong, but fair play for being the bigger person.

You made a back to front comparison - he’s worth what someone will pay for him

If someone offers £8 million for a player

And another club offers £3 million

And the player will only go to the club who offers £3 million

Was the player worth £3 million or £8 million?

The £3m offer would be rejected

Easy. £8 Million then. It’s irrelevant what the player chose. That club offered £8M. A player is worth what someone is willing to pay.

You can't really say what a footballer is worth, other than comparing what other similar players have sold for.
A club can say a price they are willing to sell the player for, and a club or clubs can say what they are willing to pay.
Vik's (notional) value is still being shown as 13m Euros on Transfer Market

If Hamer wants to go then the best deal for the club would be, sell him to Burnley in exchange for McNally+ cash.
