100% agree , so WHY isn't George Curtis getting the same recognition as John Sillett ?The legend status is thrown around far too easily but not in this case.

Yeah and only came through ranks , he was there before Jimmy Hill . If my memory serves me me Correctly !!!He only played about 500 games for us dont know why we should call him a legend
I get that George may not like all the media attention !Snoz is a bit more in the public view where as George is more away, a bit like their time together

But that doesn't excuse the football club ( ie WEMBLEY ) John but no George !
Unless George is not well , but I've not heard anything .
Oh I must have missed that .Dementia I thought was posted on here?
I think you will find that we signed him from Coleville in Kent I'm pretty sure he went strait in to the first team replacing Roy Kirk at cntr half.Yeah and only came through ranks , he was there before Jimmy Hill . If my memory serves me me Correctly !!!
other than Arther Rowley who was playing for Shrewsbury back then, always gave George a run for his moneyMy dads fav all time city player... good enough for me. I saw him for a season or two before he broke his leg. Always had the opposing centre forward in his pocket.
Happy birthday Big Man

I stand correct , I did say IF my memory serves me Correctly !!! :emoji_nerd::emoji_relaxed:Snowden colliery welfare, and indeed went straight into the first team.
I think he was at the memorial to JH in the cathedral.George Curtis's achievements at CCFC should never be underestimated, debut at 16, captain of the club in four divisions, tragically broke his leg second game in in our inaugural first division season at Forest, while being stretchered off along the touch line he was sat up smiling, was back by Easter and immediately played his part in an unlikely survival from relegation. Went to Villa for a couple of seasons think they won promotion from division three and he may have been captain, came back here as commercial manager and managing director and was manager of our cup winning team, people tend to forget that. Sad day when he jacked that in to return to the commercial side, I actually think John Sillett wasn't quiet the same without Curtis alongside him. Also sad he never gets involved with club at all now, legends day or anything.
Snowdon Colliery I believeI think you will find that we signed him from Coleville in Kent I'm pretty sure he went strait in to the first team replacing Roy Kirk at cntr half.
