Some of the happiest days of my life as a CCFC suporter were when we were in the old Division 3 (South), Division 4 and then Division 3. Then, going to the game was fun. Should CCFC get relegated to Division 1 (used to be Div 3) then don't despair cos worries will be lifted and football will once again be fun. Local derbys against Nothampton, Port Vale, Swindon and such teams fun... football should be something to be enjoyed and I think relegation might just bring about happier times.

Anyone else remember those days ?

mr voice, im old but not that old.My memory goes back to the very early seventies ,and thats vague.I can remember the home game against Bayern Munich clearly, what a night that was, beating a great team like that was fan bloody tastic, its a shame we got hammered away in the first leg but i still loved it.
My memory it seems gets worse by the day, so i can't really contribute more on this post.
What year was the famous donkey free kick against Everton, i can remember that

I remember those days, it was a life time ago

We all enjoyed the football but hoped are performances would gain us promotion. NOT RELEGATED
L1 {Div3} is no substitute for the top league.
relegation at the Villa game was soul destroying, don`t want to go there again

Unless we get them in a cup, you more than likely won't have to.

I HATE the idea of being a third-tier team, i was born in 87 and as such can recall the days of Ndlovu, Dion, Hucks, Whelan, Macca, Hadji, Chippo, Keano, Konjic.... Equally i have been here for the entire soul-destroying Division 1 / Championship era. Unless Thorn is backed with cold, hard cash (which he won't be) we're heading there, and i don't think i'm gonna enjoy one second of it, especially if we struggle in that league too!

Still, i'll be there every week, singing the sky blue song and cheering our patchwork squad on through thick and thin!

One of my happiest days was at Stockport, when we beat them 2-0 on the opening day of our 1st game in the Championship.. I remember thinking

..........."this is it, at last, a team that wins more than they lose, how exciting is this gonna be"

Little did I know !

I started going in the Div 3 days - though I don't really remember any games, just the atmosphere, the crowd in the West End, standing on the bricks at the corner of the terracing to see over the wall. This was the early Jimmy Hill days ~ Ronnie Rees was my first Sky Blue hero.

But then I saw us climb, the match against Wolves, can't get much more excitement. Or the first game at home in Div 1 Southampton or Sheff Utd - red and white stripes anyway, and the sound of George Curtis's leg breaking echoing at the back of West End. I'm not as old as you VoR, though I remember delivering a colour television to the bungalow just off Earlsdon Avenue, in about 1971.
