no, let them go on their ownIt is a rather strange event isn't it! I used to go trick or treating loads as a kid but just wouldn't do it with my kids anymore!!
We used to welcome trick or treaters, but this is the third year now that we haven't and we now put a 'sorry, no trick or treaters here please' sign on our door.
My wife is invariably asleep at this time (starts work at 5 am and has a nap from around 4pm until around 7pm) and also our dog barks like crazy every time someone knocks the door and is incredibly loud for a dog of her size.
Last time we did embrace it I think we had about 25 kids in total come to the door that evening.
Never had so many. Most we have ever had is 5 at the door at any one time. It's like a military operation to get in from work and dodge them. I wouldn't mind too much but there's massive gangs of them of about 10-15 at a time.
Might sound like the grinch but it's lights off and TV on loud so the dogs can't hear the door.
Daughter is always away for halloween, if she was here would probably make more of an effort as she would enjoy opening the door to them and giving them sweets.
Yup, the Chinese must be absolutely making a killing on all this !Can't stand the way it's become so commercialised.
Go into any shop (where I live) and you are assaulted by stands of Halloween decorations, costumes and sweets for kids.
Almost everything Made in China.
Think I've said to you in several occasions, you live in the wrong part of Keresley and need to move down to the posh end. There are bloody loads of them about, loads of teenagers as well who think a mask is going to get them anywhere.

I might just put pumpkins outside random housesWe put a pumpkin out and have had a good 30+ took it in an hour ago (as there was hardly any sweets left for me to gorge on!)and not one since, appears the approach of if there is a pumpkin or some sort of sign out you can knock if not don’t has worked, prefer that method.
Did they not even bother to get one to pull their coat over the head and then get their mate in a headlock so it looks like they are holding their head?Had the old classic 6 lads 14/15 basically hoodies up, 1 with a mask, they came down just after a few little kids, thinking they were the dogs bollocks, I gave a look of (effing idiots grow up ) which they clocked and sheepishly took 1 sweet each (usually let the kids take 3/4 each) and sulked off!
I’m awaiting eggs and flour to land on the window anytime soon!

No class with kids nowadays
Could be worse, I've just driven through Nuneaton and had to check if a group of people were dressed up. Absolute states.

The oldest we have had has been around 13 and the only 3 of them max and they have been fine.
10-15 must be quite intimidating.

Sod the guy in the bubble wrap, who's the background honey in the green dress, I bet that's got a lovely preginus. This id have given them the keys to the Haribo factory!
Never seen that.I understand mums accompanying children on trick or treat visits but since when has it been necessary for their boyfriends to accompany the mums accompanying the kids? Are the streets of Coventry so dangerous now this has become necessary? (Serious question).
I can't stand it Yankee rubbish.. And bonfire night too, ban it. You live in Bell Green and you'd agree, as youths use both events to cause trouble. Wankers !
Shop owners in Riley Square Bell Green have had their cars damaged by youths, in the day time. The police know the culprits but don't do anything about it. The butcher said he wants a vigilante group to give the youths a few slaps, and see what happens ? I told him I'm in on that and a few others too. You see the coppers get involved then !
You're right of course Nick. He said the same, but you can tell by many decent people's attitude these days that they're fed up with it all. I heard recently about a bloke who beat up a youth in Cov for something, and a gang smashed into his house in revenge wrecking it to bits as he was out, but terrorised his missus and kids. All that for a backhander !Probably not worth the trouble you will get into.
Especially as a couple of digs and leave it at that doesn't exist now, it's break into your house and stab you in your sleep type nonsense.

That's what they do in Northern Ireland. People pay heavies to do it, as the police ignored their problems with anti social youths etc.Yep, you would have do a proper job now. Transit van to the countryside and take their knee caps off.
It's all different now
